Michael welch to play Mike Newton

Unfortuantely the article is only available in the print version so we can not host it here. Links to Michael’s Website and his IMDb page. Recently Michael has been in Joan of Arcadia and the film Lost Dream. We will update with any new information as soon as we get it. Thanks to jennalou for sending in this information!!

That is a perfect Mike, visually at least. And judging from his movies, he’s bound to have lots of talent. Really looking forward to the movie!

michael welch is weird (but a GOOD weird…a very good weird) and hes PERFECT for mike newton.
Okay!!!! I think I see Mike Newton in him, he resembles the physical description. It’s always a shock the first time names are released. I always need some time to digest the news with ever announcement, the images of the characters are so vivid in my mind, it’s difficult to let go (especially when you have so many HOT characters in one book). I couldn’t wait for Monday any longer; there is always a new cast announcement ever Monday to Friday. So that means we have 4 more days for 4 (if not more) cast names to be released. YAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!

He’s cute…cuter than I pictured Mike, actually. I thought of Mike as rounder-faced…but yeah, Michael looks like he can pull of the puppy dog bit. Poor guy… we love him as a dog (kinda)… But definately adorable.
He looks so young. But I think he will be great as will all the actors. I’m still undecided on the whole Edward one though.

yeah! i think they made a good pick! he looks like a really good mike, someone who would follow bella around and annoy the crap out of her! But he has that whold sweet high school boy look.

I am actually really happy with all of the choices thus far! I am however dying to see who is cast for all the Cullen characters. The only one that I have a real set image of is Alice, and I totally see Rumor Willis playing her! Bring on more cast announcements, yay!
Um this is not the most important character so for those of you who think so you obviously didn’t read the same book as I did… This guy doesn’t look like Mike at all.. He’s not that cute.. sorry to burst Y’alls bubbles… the casting so far sucks… with the exception of Anna Kendrick as Jessica…

Rumor Willis is to “big” to play Alice, at least in my opinion. Alice is a little tiny thing, who also happens to be perfectly adorable…..Rumor just doesn’t fit the bill. To bad Ellen Page (Juno) is a hot commodity right now. She would make an excellent Alice.

My image for Michael is a little bit chubbier than him,but I’m really happy with this casting.
I agree that Ellen Page would be good for Alice, but like you said she is just too popular right now. I still stick to my guns about Rumor though, I think she has great pixie like qualities just how I always imagined Alice to have. Also, she’s got the really well defined face that I think fits the vampire mold.
