EW: New Moon Trailer Strategy

Entertainment Weekly has great article up about the trailer

“For years now, Hollywood has played a deft bait-and-switch game of announcing that the new trailer for an upcoming Must See Movie would play in front of another film from the same studio that, quite frankly, could maybe do with a box-office boost. So Summit Entertainment’s announcement today that it will put the brand spankin’ new preview for The Twilight Saga: New Moon in front of Summit flick Bandslam when it opens this weekend should shock nobody, especially considering just how crowded this coming weekend will be at the box-office…” Read the rest on EW

Twilight Wins 11 Teen Choice Awards

The Teen Choice Awards aired tonight and Twilight won 11 of the 12 awards it was nominated for!!! The only reason they didn’t go 12 for 12 was because Nikki and Ashley were nominated in the same category. Ashley and Taylor won the Fresh Face award while Kristen and Rob won for best actress/actor in a Drama. You can see a complete list of winners here.

We would like to give a shout out to Nikki who has always been a class act and incredibly kind to the fans!! We love you and that purse!

At the end of the show Josh Duhamel announced the various awards that Twilight won including Romantic Movie, Drama Movie and Lip lock(surprising? not so much) The entire cast came on stage to thank fans.

Ashley Greene Photo Controversy

MTV received a quote from Ashley Greene’s representatives regarding a story that broke late Monday afternoon. We are running the story now that the issue is officially being addressed by Ashley Greene’s representatives, and is no longer purely conjecture.

According to MTV:

“It looks like “Twilight” star Ashley Greene is the latest starlet caught up in a nude-photo scandal. After Perez Hilton posted naked pictures that appeared to be of Greene, her rep stepped in and released a statement.

“The photos in question, which appear to be of our client, are illegal and are being unlawfully displayed,” her rep told MTV News in a statement Monday (August 10). “Our client intends to take legal action.”

Although the statement doesn’t confirm whether the photos are of Greene, they have since been taken off Perez Hilton’s Web site and replaced with the following statement: “The nude images have been removed from PerezHilton.com at the request of Greene’s attorneys.”

At the time the story broke, Ashley Greene was already in transit to the Eclipse set in Vancouver.  You can see the entire story on MTV.

The staff of the Lexicon wishes Ashley Greene well during what is obviously an emotional and trying time. We would ask that any comments do not link to the photos whose remnants are still online in that Ashley Greene’s reps have made quite clear that they will be taking legal action towards those who do post them.

Edward and Bella – Barbie Collector Edition

On November 1, Mattel will offer Edward and Bella Barbie Collector dolls for all of the TWILIGHT fans out there! Just in time for the release of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON, each doll will be available for $24.95 where dolls are sold.

Below is a statement from the Barbie designer, a big Twilight fan!

“I fell in love with the TWILIGHT series and was obsessively reading the books when I was assigned the project to design the Edward and Bella Barbie dolls.  As you can imagine, I was thrilled to find out that I would design the dolls and get to work with Stephenie Meyer.  Stephenie herself came to Mattel and art directed the look of the dolls.  She was integral in perfecting every detail as she really wanted Edward and Bella to embody the spirit of the characters that she envisioned while writing the series.  We also had the ACTUAL costumes from the movie set that were used in the “Forever 17” scene to help inspire the costumes for the dolls.  It was an unforgettable experience and I hope TWILIGHT fans are just as excited about the dolls as I am!”
