O.A.R. Talks Twilight

O.A.R. guitarist Richard On and drummer Chris Culos caught up with MSG’s own Alex Iglesias before rocking the Madison Square Garden stage Saturday night. Check out this exclusive interview where the guys share their thoughts on Twilight, Twitter, and Television!

Kristen Stewart is DAZED

Hints that Kristen Stewart would be appearing on the cover of the September issue of Dazed magazine began appearing online this week along with a couple of quotes. Well now you can see some more details direct on the Dazed site. The magazine is slated to hit new stands tomorrow August 20th where the full interview will exclusively appear.

“Dazed went to L.A. to take Kristen Stewart away from the glare of the paparazzi and exclusively speak to her about dealing with fame and life beyond the Twilight saga. Photographer David Benjamin Sherry and stylist Katie Shillingford also took Kristen on a psychedelic shoot, from which Dazed Digital have extra shots here, not seen in the magazine. On the shoot, Sherry says “I have never seen ‘Twilight but I was researching lots of images of her. I was inspired by the paintings of Patrick Nagel. I was reminded of a young Jodie Foster or Winona Ryder. I tried to portray a new way of seeing this blossoming teenage actress.”

Stephenie Meyer’s Musical Tastes

It looks like New York Magazine has just figured out what Stephenie Meyer’s musical tastes are.  Up until now it looks like they couldn’t get past the stereotype of what a teen romance novelist should have on her IPOD.

“If you would’ve asked us before today what kind of music we thought Stephenie Meyer listened to, we probably would’ve said something like Evanescence, Lifehouse, or maybe even early-period Donnie & Marie Osmond. However, we would’ve been totally wrong! Her iPod playlist includes the likes of Animal Collective, the Silversun Pickups, and the Dead Weather.”

It got us thinking as to how “perceived image” is no indication of musical taste. Another good example is author J.R. Ward who self-described “I look like I should be listening to Mozart”  in actuality is a huge gangsta rap fan among other genres.  So, do you break the mold on your IPOD tastes?

Vancouver Shooting Off to a Great Start

One of the great things about shooting a movie in Vancouver in August is that it makes being pelted by hail less likely. It seems like the film crews were probably able to shoot some outdoor work with Jackson Rathbone for his Jasper backstory scene.

According to Mandy who has visited a number of the movie sets, and acted as a local tour guide for us when we were in Vancouver,

“They had torn down most everything and we chatted with crew still tearing down. There were dark black screens (typically they are white and used for either blocking views or reflecting light)

I asked why they were black (perhaps it was too sunny yesterday and instead of reflecting light as the white ones do, they were absorb light?) and they told us they were not for lighting purposes at all but to block the paparzzi… wait…. how many movies are being filmed right now that would require paparzzi?

hmmmm….

Based on the location, the conversation, and the report from Lainey on what was filmed… I conclude that this location has SERIOUS potential for having hosted Twilight Saga Eclipse filming yesterday….”

Stephenie Meyer Partners with Hobo

Back a couple of moths ago, we first heard of the Hobo skatebboard company when they created a one-of-a-kind skateboard to auction off for the Save The Book Babe event. ( Side note Pel just had coffee with Faith AKA the Book Babe this weekend and she’s hanging in there, and she has plans for the future.) Well now it seems that the group is expanding their partnership with Stephenie Meyer.

“They started the Hobo Foundation simultaneously with the business. They will give a portion of their profits, when they get some, to the foundation, which will partner with local charities that benefit the homeless. The two briefly considered whether “hobo” might be considered politically incorrect, but they decided the term fit their mission and would appeal to the young people in their target customer base. The company motto is “We share the same streets.”

The charity aspect was a key draw for Meyer, Hancock said. Meyer, who also lives in Cave Creek and is a family friend of Hancock’s, invited him to design a one-of-a-kind skateboard for a cancer-charity auction she was hosting in the spring. The deck sold for $1,500, and she was so impressed that she approached the two men about partnering on a line of gear.

“She knew that by doing that deck for the charity event, people saw Hobo as a company tied to a social cause,” Hancock said.”

Boo Boo Stewart Interview

About a month ago Boo Boo Stewart, who was just cast as Seth in Eclipse, had a phone interview. It’s a little weird because you can hear bowling alley noises in the background, but it’s kind of really cute in a way.  He seems to be channeling the Seth adorable factor in a big way. And in keeping with the ever present Twilight theme he is musically talented: guitar, drums, and he sings.

Kellan Lutz Toys With The Paparazzi

This isn’t the first time Kellen Lutz has toyed around with the paparazzi. In the past he’s been known to take their pictures at airports, and to stage photos with the cast busily reading the Twilight novels.

Our personal favorite, however, has to be the time he sent his younger twin brothers, who look a lot like him, out of his house on motorbikes with helmets on in opposite directions. The paparazzi didn’t know who to chase, so they split up. After they were about a mile away each brother stopped and revealed.  What a classic! Talk about beating them at their own game.

Anyway, according to Just Jared, Kellan is back to having a little fun at the paprazzi’s expense.

Kiowa Gordon Hometown Hero

Kiowa Gordon is incredibly popular in his local Phoenix area as Twifans reports. Pel met Kiowa when he unexpectedly stopped by the Phoenix TwiTour and he is just the nicest person ever!

According to TwiFans

“Kiowa Gordon wasn’t at TwiTour Phoenix signing autographs but he had his own signing event just miles away from the event. Fans showed up via fliers to Kiowa’s event which was held at Tang’s restaurant in Goodyear, AZ. Kiowa is a Arizona local resident and his presence was helping Tang’s sell some amazing smelling food. He had a table full of very HOT poses. I was having trouble picking one for myself and for the site. Kiowa signed a special photo for a giveaway for Twifans.com.”

New Moon Muffin Wars

In keeping with our food theme, it seems that there was some contention on set regarding pack food. Specifically just who did and didn’t get to eat muffins. Some how we can’t imagine it was too serious. They guys in the pack all looked exceptionally well fed to us 🙂

Twilight Cakes!

TY to Nina who wrote in about her friend Melissa’s hobby.

“I am excited for this post! This past weekend I made cakes for two lovely ladies who heart all things Twilight (as do I…who can resist?). I was given free reign so I decided to dedicate one to the Cullen Family (their cake has the Cullen Crest, and, you can’t see it in the pictures, but the blue SPARKLES!) and one dedicated to the Quileute wolf pack from New Moon. ”
