Summers Blood Coming Direct to DVD

According to the horror site Fangoria:

Lionsgate Home Entertainment has announced that it will release a new psychochiller starring Ashley Greene, who plays Alice Cullen in TWILIGHT and the upcoming THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON. The movie was originally lensed (in Ottawa, Canada) as SUMMER and has also been known as SUMMER’S BLOOD, but for some strange reason, it has been rechristened SUMMER’S MOON for its DVD release.

Streeting November 10, the film casts Greene as Summer, a young woman who takes a road trip to track down her estranged father. She winds up in the clutches of a handyman who at first seems friendly, but proves to be one of a family of maniacs who take her prisoner.”

There are more details and a trailer on Fangoria. Please be advised that it is a hard core horror site and it’s a hard core horror film. So, click the link at your own discretion.

MuteMath’s Armistice Releases Today

MuteMath’s new album Armistice releases today.  I have a copy and have been listening to it endlessly.  The CD has 12 tracks one of which is Spotlight that we all know and love. MuteMath continues to make music their way using various instruments and styles to give them a truly unique sound.

The Lost Year is a slower track with a beautiful mix of piano and strings. The lyrics are subtle yet meaningful. Clipping brings you the unique sound that is expected from MuteMath. Burden gives a distinctively rock feel, again showing that MuteMath doesn’t really fit into one genre. And lastly showing their truly unique style is Armistice, the title track, which combines guitar, brass and some very cool mixing.

I’ve been listening to the CD for the last two days and there isn’t a single track I find myself wanting to skip which is unusual on a CD. This comes from MuteMath’s incredible sound diversity, not one song sounds like another which makes for a truly enjoyable listen.

Other Songs I love: Pins and Needles, No Response and Goodbye

Now not only did I get a copy to listen to but I also have 3 copies to give away to 3 lucky Lexicon winners!!!  Here’s what you need to do, simply leave a comment stating why you like MuteMath.  You have until 11:59PM EST tonight.  After that 3 lucky winner will be drawn at random.  Please make sure you use a valid email address when commenting.

Noot Seear: A Nutty Name

With apologies to the Mars Candy Company it looks like Noot Seear, who plays Heidi, would agree that “Sometimes you feel like a nut, and sometimes you don’t.”

According to MTV:

“Now that Noot will surely have a Twilighter following, it may be too late for her to ditch her nickname (which means “nut” in Danish) and go by her given name Renata. “I have been trying to be Renata forever,” Noot said. “I still try to be Renata. Every time I would change schools, I would always start as Renata and somehow switch to Noot. And when I moved to New York, there was a really big model named Renata and she was at my agency. Now I can’t get rid of it. It’s the most ridiculous name.”

Dakota Fanning: NY Times Interview

The New York Times has a brief article and photo gallery featuring Dakota Fanning who they describe as a grounded 15-year-old going on 30.

“Dakota Fanning is so self-possessed and so articulate that the only reminder you’re speaking with a 15-year-old and not someone much older is her occasional tendency to giggle when she’s sharing some droll aspect of her life.”

Check out the full spread on the New York Times.

What’s Missing From the Meet Jacob Black Trailer

MTV has a rundown of missing elements from the most recent trailer from the Volturi to the elusive Quil:

“Shirtless Taylor Lautner? In-costume Dakota Fanning? Strung-out-looking Robert Pattinson? Check, check and check. But although the “New Moon” trailer entitled “Meet Jacob Black” gave us plenty of fun things to look at — again, and again, and again — it also continued to omit plenty.

Depending on your point of view, the two “New Moon” trailers have either held back all the best stuff or done a good job of giving us glimpses at just enough to get our butts in theater seats. But at the risk of paraphrasing Veruca Salt: We want it all, and we want it now!”

So agree or disagree with MTV, did you like what you saw, or did you like Veruca from Willy Wonka want more?

Also, so you can really see the finer points, check out this frame by frame gallery. It’s where the “strung out Pattinson picture” featured above came from.

Twilight Themed Yearbook Photos the Latest Rage

TY to Tori for the tip on this one.  The photography magazine, Rangefinder, has an entire feature on how Twilight themed photoshoots are becoming popular.

Photographer Hernan Rodriguez explains how he went about getting the look (see page 5)

“The Twilight craze is huge with the young generation. Teen guys are hip
to this style, and girls want a guy who looks like this. We were after a shot
with senior Jason that had a dark, mysterious look with blue undertones,
which presented an interesting challenge. We couldn’t shoot Jason in
the middle of a dark mystical forest. We would have had to scout a place
and bring in generators to light it up like a Christmas tree, so instead we
brought the forest to our senior in postproduction.”
