NewCon Reveals More Details

This just in from the NewCon organizers:

“You don’t have to look far to find talent in the cast of Twilight or New Moon.  How many people can say that
they’ve been part of two of the biggest movie franchises in history and still managed to do their time in Shawshank Redemption?  There’s only one, and his name is Ned Bellamy.  He starred as Waylon Forge alongside Robert
Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in Twilight, spent time with Tobin Bell on the blockbuster, Saw and played Guard Youngblood with Morgan Freeman in Shawshank Redemption.

Now, Bellamy and some of his fellow Twilight cast members are heading to Nashville this weekend to kick off the NewCon Festival.  His co-star, Jackson Rathbone and his band, 100 Monkeys, will be headlining the festival, which hopes to inspire fans to get more involved in music and the arts.

Jose Zuniga, who played Biology teacher, Mr. Molina, in Twilight will also be joining his friends in Nashville for the weekend.  All three will participate in Saturday’s Q&A session on acting.  With over thirty films and thirty-seven television series to his credit, Zuniga will be a wealth of knowledge for fans.  He also co-starred with Bellamy in the Oscar nominated film, ConAir.

The weekend includes Twilight and New Moon inspired art competitions as well as poetry and fan fiction contests. 100 Monkeys will also be part of an open jam session on Saturday.  Anyone attending the festival can bring their instrument to jam with the band. They will pick one lucky fan to join them on stage Saturday night during their concert at The Wildhorse in downtown Nashville.

100 Monkeys will also have a t-shirt design contest during the festival. The winning shirt will be printed as a limited edition and sold on the band’s website, with all of the money going to the Spencer Bell Legacy Project. Spencer was a dear friend of Jackson and his bandmates who lost his battle with adrenal cancer in 2006.  To learn more about Spencer, please visit www.SpencerBellMemorial.com.

Taylor Lautner may not be there, but either way the Renaissance Hotel in Nashville will be rocking this weekend.  For more information about the festival, visit www.NewCon2009.com.

Rachelle Lefevre Looking Gorgeous in Gotham

Gotham Magazine has beautiful photo spread and an interview with Rachelle online,

“With long, curly red hair, porcelain skin and a loud, infectious laugh, actress Rachelle Lefevre is hard to overlook. But until she appeared as the bitchy bloodsucker Victoria in the 2008 smash hit Twilight, she’d been a relative unknown. Now with the hotly anticipated second film in the series, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, hitting theaters November 20 and two more films in the works, Lefevre is about to find herself in the glare of the spotlight.

“When I first got to LA, everybody said I was too ‘girl-next-door’ for edgier roles,” she says. “I ended up playing a stripper, an escort, a vampire and an off-her-rocker troubled poet. I keep playing roles that are not even close to the girl next door.”

While Lefevre’s upcoming projects will certainly keep her from being typecast, they also give the actress a chance to walk a mile in some very different shoes. In Barney’s Version, she plays the manic-depressive, hippie-poet first wife of costar Paul Giamatti. In Casino Jack, she’s a Washington, DC, power player (opposite Kevin Spacey and Jon Lovitz), a character that’s based on real life press secretary Emily Miller.”

Julia Jones in Lime Life: Final Interview

Lime Life is wrapping up their interview with Julia Jones who plays Leah Clearwater in Eclipse.

“For the final part of our series, Julia was gracious to answer one question for us about what it’s really like to work with her co-star Robert Pattinson…and she even opened up about working with Kristen Stewart. We were also so curious whether Robert Pattinson was like some other actors we have heard about about who don’t break characters, even when filming has stopped. Is he a hard-core method actor, only responding to people when they call him Edward?”

MTV Q & A With Jamie Campbell Bower, Kellan Lutz, and Billy Burke

“Kellan Lutz
Q: We know there will be more Edward in the “New Moon” movie than there was in the book, but did you and the other Cullens ever try to lobby for more screen time as well?

Lutz: I think I really tried to. I tried to throw in my two cents, to see if Emmett and Rosalie could have a honeymoon again in Italy so we could be around and be part of the whole situation of Edward, Alice and Bella. [But the script] has to really follow the book, because the fans are so die-hard about what happened in the book. I mean, I had a line that was in the [“Twilight”] trailers that wasn’t in the book, and I heard some of the fans saying, “That’s not in the book!” Like, “What the heck is up with that?” So, in “New Moon,” the script is very similar to the book and the Cullens are in where they would be in, and they aren’t put in anywhere else.

MTV: It would be kind of cheesy if Edward and Bella just happened to bump into the Cullens in Italy.

Lutz: [Laughs.] Well, I thought it would be a fun idea. Because my character, as well as Nikki Reed’s Rosalie, we go away to college. We’re a year older, along with Jasper and Alice, so I think it could be a cool thing to maybe show a clip of them somewhere — a fun honeymoon, away from the rest of the family. But, no.”

Peter Murphy With Eclipse Cameo

MTV is reporting that,

“”[When I was young], I was a huge fan of a guy who does a cameo in ‘Eclipse,’ a guy named Peter Murphy,” revealed Billy Burke, the veteran actor who plays Bella’s father, Charlie Swan, when he stopped by the MTV studios this week. “He used to be the singer of Bauhaus…He came in for a cameo, and I was wildly excited about that,” marveled Burke, who has his own musical career on the side from his acting. “I saw his name on the call sheet, and I had to give him a call and ask him to have some dinner with me, because I was a huge fan when I was growing up.”
