Get a Free Shirt From CafePress

The other day we blogged about a contest CafePress is running (click the banner for details)

They just contacted us to say thanks for letting people know about the contest, and they want us to be able to give a free CafePress tee shirt to one lucky Lexiconer as an additional thank you.  So if you you’d like a free Twilight themed CafePress tee shirt respond to this entry with the words “pick me” and we’ll pick someone at random at 12:00 (noon) est October 10th.

Now you can pick any Cafepress Twilight Saga Themed shirt that you want from any CafePress store if you win. You can see the vast number of stores here. Of course in a shameless bit of self promotion, we’d be thrilled if you picked something from the Lexicon’s own store 🙂 Check out some of our designs below.

Also if you are planning on attending a convention, the totes bags come in super handy. Not only do you need something to carry your camera and souvenirs around in, but the bags sign really well . So, you could have the actors sign your bag.

Dracula Sequel Penned by Descendant

According to the Vancouver Sun, Canadian resident and Bram Stoker descendant, Dacre Stoker, has written a sequel to his great uncle’s novel that started it all. The book is entitled Dracula: The Un-dead and “is set 25 years after the events of the 1897 novel, and focuses on Quincey — the son of the ill-fated Jonathan Harker and Mina Murray from the original tale.”

When asked to comment on the current Twilight craze Dacre Stoker said, “They call them “sparkly vamps,” he says. “And I’m trying to say we’re all born from that same page that Bram wrote. Every generation rediscovers it. And while (Meyer’s) vampires may be different, she’s bringing a whole new generation of young vampire fans who eventually are going to get a little older and want to see other vampire stories and what their roots are.”

You can check out Dacre Stoker’s site here for full details on the book.

So what do you think? Any interest in this sequel?

Belated Wolfpack Wednesday

Over the last several months the Lexicon has been very fortunate to attend several of the Official Twilight Conventions run by Creation Entertainment. At every one of the events we have Tweeted about the Q&A sessions given by the various actors most recently in the the main Lexicon account at the Chicago tour stop.

At the Chicago convention we attended we had Bronson Pelletier, Tinsel Korey, Tyson Houseman, and Kiowa Gordon all on stage at the same time telling many funny and personal stories about their experiences on set while filming The Twilight Saga: New Moon. And as always, we Tweeted all about it.

Thanks to Creation, we were fortunate enough, to able to get the pack members to sign various items. And the good news is that we want to repay you all for following our Tweets by giving these photos away. In fact we’re now extending the initial giveaways since we now have more things, such as the above tote bag signed by Tinsel Korey.

Each Wednesday, (for as long as we have stuff 🙂 ) we are giving items away. If you know the correct answer, reply to the post with your answer and we will choose one winner at random at the end of the day. Make sure you spell your email address correctly when you post your comment so we can get in touch if you win. Anyone can participate from anywhere in the world. we don’t care if the winner is on the Antarctic science station. we’ll get your photo to you no matter what continent you live on.

Last week’s winner is person number 45, Morag who knew that Chaske Spencer’s favorite games were chess and spades.

Now for this week’s question: “When asked if she was on Team Edward or Team Jacob, what was Tinsel Korey’s response? We will close this contest at 11:59pm est. tomorrow, Friday since we are late in posting this. The winner picked at random from the correct answers gets an werewolf girl tote bag signed by Tinsel.

Melissa Rosenberg talks about New Moon, David Slade, and Dexter

MRScreenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, seen here with Stephenie Meyer, spoke to Sci-Fi TV Zone about her career.  The interview was done over the phone and they have supplied the recording for us to listen to.  They have divided it up into four segments.  The first segment focuses on her work with the show Dexter.  The second segment is about how she adapted the Twilight Saga for films.  The third segment is all about her work with New Moon.  And the fourth segment provides her thoughts on The Twilight Saga: Eclipse director David Slade.

About New Moon, Rosenberg says, “It looks gorgeous!  And it is a big movie!” And she confirms that Taylor Lautner is “unbelievable” in the way he stands up against the relationship established by Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson in the first film.

Listen to all four segments over at the Sci-Fi TV Zone.

Michael Sheen talks about New Moon and Aro

aroEven though he is known for his biographical roles, such as Tony Blair or David Frost, Michael Sheen has also taken on some supernatural roles in the Underworld series.  But now he’s the ever frightening Aro in The Twilight Saga: New Moon and he talks about it with USA Today.

After he read the first two books himself, Sheen realized why the literary phenom causes teen girls to swoon. “What it has tapped into, at least in the first book, is how it feels to fall in love for the first time. I don’t think you have to be a girl to relate to that.
“The second book captures the utter desolation of losing that first love. I went through that myself, and Stephenie Meyer invokes that brilliantly.”
