Peter Facinelli at the Harrisburg Mall

The Twilight Examiner has a summary of Peter Facinelli’s autograph signing that went on this weekend in Penneylvania.  Approximately 2,000 fans showed up to the event.

Facinelli’s biggest win with regard to mall appearances is getting the chance to talk with his fans and introduce them to philanthropic causes. Said he, “I enjoy interacting with the fans, and I enjoy being able to spread the names of charities around. It’s my way of giving back. If a small number of people see me and take an interest in a charity, I’ve made a difference in the world. It’s very easy when you are doing well to just take. I feel good being able to give back.”

He also spoke briefly with PennLive about his time between New Moon and Nurse Jackie.

The Lexicon staff meets Charlie Bewley

While at Creation Entertainment’s Official Twilight Convention in Chicago this weekend we had the chance to meet our first member of the Volturi guard, Charlie Bewley who plays Demitri.  Charlie was on stage for Q&As on Friday and really gave the fans a treat with his British humor and a new way to think of the Volturi.  He said that they aren’t really “evil” but that they are just making sure someone upholds the law.  We found this comment particularly interesting considering that we had printed off tote bags which basically said the exact same thing!  We had Charlie sign the bags and will be giving it away on the website at a future time.  He also spoke about his audition process and that he was initially called in to audition for Marcus, which he didn’t want.  He did this hilarious Marcus impersonation several times where he kind of fell over the side of his chair and mumbled dialogue in an exaggerated form of boredom.  He told us that Chris Heyerdahl does this very creepy voice for Marcus and that his performance was spot on.

Charlie also spoke about the costuming for the Volturi saying that when he first saw everyone in costume he felt that “we all looked like a bunch of choir boys!”  He said that it took the addition of the hand painted contact lenses to really feel the vibe of the characters and that once he saw himself in full make up he stood back and praised the mind of Stephenie Meyer.  But probably the funniest moment of the Q&A was when he compared the Cullens to the Volturi.  Of course the crowd booed a bit when he said the Volturi were better and cooler, but he made his point to a degree when he suggested showing the two covens gear up for battle.  He said the Cullens would be there pumping up their Reeboks while the Volturi would be putting on Armani capes and making sure their medallions were straight.  Much laughter followed especially when he started acting it out!

Many thanks to Charlie Bewley and the staff at Creation Entertainment for the photo!

Rob Pattinson as Prince Harry?

According to British on line news source The Improper, director Peter Kosminsky is out to find the perfect actor to play Prince Harry in his upcoming film “The Spare” and Robert Pattinson is on his short list of choices.  Other actors he is considering include Rupert Grint of Harry Potter fame as well as Rupert Friend.

“I feel a sense of compassion for the [Prince Harry],” Kosminsky says. “His parents break up in the most spectacularly public way, his mother dies in the most tragic and, again, public way and everything is picked over.
“He’s a man born to no role. His brother’s the heir and Harry’s the spare,” he adds, hence the name of the film.

Tinsel Korey as Emily

Tinsel Korey did her very first convention yesterday. She looked a little nervous at first but soon got into the swing of things. It’s obvious that she got along great with the wolfpack guys. It sounded like they had a older sister and teenage brothers relationship with that great sibling combo where you love them to pieces, but then there are times when you shake you head and just say too much testosterone in one place.

She also talked about her new castmates Boo Boo Stewart and Julie Jones, saying that they fit in right away and that is was nice having another girl (Julie) around frequently.

Tinsel also saw the promotional shot (below under the cut because it’s a large photo, shot from the display photo on Tinsel’s Q&A box, they also had huge banners of the same shot as well as copies that you could have Tinsel autograph.) for the first time. She talked about how the make up took several hours to do but that the effect was worth it.

Tinsel also said that she like both directors. They had different styles, both of which were good. (Charlie Bewley also said the same thing, more on Charlie later.) Tinsel said that David Slade is really funny and has a great dry British humor and was not at all the scary horror movie person she had first imagined. [Read more…]
