t’s in inevitable that just before Christmas each year top ten lists come out. This year because the decade is turning their are decade lists on top of the yearly lists. We’ve already covered Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner making their MTV Woman/Man of the Year lists, Taylor Lautner being named Moviefone’s Entertainer of the Year, and the Twilight Saga books and Stephenie Meyer being named author of the decade by the Baltimore Sun. Now the actors and the books are hitting several others.
Guinness Book of World Records: “Twilight, which is growing into a massive franchise, received the record for Highest-Grossing Movie by a Female Director – Catherine Hardwicke.”
Amazon.Com: Top selling books and top selling author of the decade. The books come in at 3. Breaking Dawn , 4. Twilight, 5. Eclipse, 7. New Moon. Stephenie Meyer comes in at number 2. It’s interesting to note that the DVD of Twilight didn’t make the cut. Given the possibility of three more movies on the horizon, the DVD will probably make the cut next decade.
Time Magazine: People Who Mattered: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. In summing up why they made the list, Time states, “They’re also not generically beautiful. God knows they’re hot enough, but they look interesting too. Intelligent. Slightly askew. You don’t just want to look at them or sleep with them; you want to talk to them. Like the vampire Pattinson plays onscreen, you can see that once upon a time they were merely human, just like us.” They are number 15 on the list. You can vote for Rob and Kristen and voice whether you think as newsmakers they should be considered higher or lower.
