Anna Kendrick Snags Golden Globe Nomination

The Golden Globe Award nominees were announced today. The Golden Globes are considered to be one of the key predictors of the upcoming Oscar nomination, though this is not fool proof.

Anna Kendrick is nominated in Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Pictures for her work in the Film Up In the Air co-starring George Clooney. Anna has some stiff competition with co-star Vera Farmiga also nominated, Oscar nominee Julianne Moore, and Oscar winner Penelope Cruz:

Mo-Nique: Precious
Julianne Moore: A Single Man
Anna Kendrick: Up in the Air
Vera Farmiga: Up in the Air
Penelope Cruz: Nine

CONGRATS TO ANNA!

Bryce Dallas Howard in Saturday Night Magazine

Saturday Night Magazine which has previously done spreads on Ashley Greene, and Alex Meraz, is now featuring Bryce Dallas Howard. Bryce is insightful and incredibly gracious in the article.

SNMag: Did you feel pressure coming into this, with the character already being established?

BDH: Yes, of course I did. Rachelle [Lefevre] did an extraordinary job at creating Victoria and part of the joy of a franchise like this is getting to see not only the characters grow but the actors continuing to grow with the characters. That’s a lot of the joy in the Harry Potter series. Every time I see one of those movies it’s so exciting to see them because they’re all getting a little bit older and different things are happening to them. It’s like watching a TV show. You start to connect with the actors really deeply. It was really unfortunate for everybody that Rachelle left. I did feel, I don’t know if I should say a pressure, but an enormous responsibility because the fans felt really strongly about the role of Victoria and they felt a deep connection to Rachelle, which they should because she is also beautiful and talented. I really did do my best and I hope that whatever work I did can somehow honor what had been created before and what was created by Stephenie. I felt really grateful to this because Rachelle and I have connected. She’s an amazing woman and has been enormously and overwhelmingly helpful.”

Twilight Lexicon Interview: Peter Facinelli Part 2

Last week we had an interview with Peter Facinelli where we talked to him about his Vampire Transformer IPhone app. Pel downloaded it for .99 ( it’s one sale until the 18th) and had way to much fun with it. Pel started transforming the entire Twilight cast (see if you can guess who is in the picture below), not too bad for the first time she used the software. She’s gotten way more artistic with it now. Nobody tell Alphie because that’s who Pel is doing next.

Anyway, we were then were able to talk to Peter about his work on Twilight and New Moon (which you can find below) and his thoughts on being on Twitter. Peter was so great to talk with us after wrapping an early call on Nurse Jackie. On Wednesday we’ll complete our Peter interview where he talks Eclipse, Nurse Jackie, and other things… [Read more…]

MTV: Peter Facinelli’s Hopes for Breaking Dawn

Baltimore Sun Pronounces 2000-2009 The Decade of Stephenie Meyer

The Baltimore Sun’s Read Street blog states, “In the coming weeks, we’ll review some of the decade’s biggest books and trends, beginning with this pronouncement: I hereby declare 2000-09 to be the Stephenie Meyer decade… Meyer’s novel “Twilight,” released in October of 2005, hit the top of the best seller lists and has hardly budged since — while being joined by others in the series. Just look at the latest list: Sarah Palin’s on top, but Meyer has the #2, #3, #4 and #7 spots with “New Moon,” “Eclipse,” “Twilight” and “Breaking Dawn.” What could she have done if she hadn’t waited until the decade was half-over to start her series?”

The author of this article seems to be one of the few who realizes that Twilight is very heavily fuled by a plus 21 fanbase. Their upcoming articles should be an interesting read on that basis alone. Check it out on the Baltimore Sun.

USA Today Features Ashley Greene’s Skyrocketing Career

Ashley Greene’s career is really taking off. Add her to the pile of Twilight stars who will be at Sundance this year. According to USA Today, “As for adding non-vampire films to her résumé, Greene will be at Sundance in January for the premiere of Skateland. “The fact that we’re going to Sundance is a validity factor for an actor doing something you’re passionate about.”

In Skateland, Greene stars as Michelle Birkam, a girl-next-door type who befriends a cool kid with a job at the local skate rink. It’s set in the 1980s, so “I look just like my mother,” she says. “It’s crazy!”

Greene, who filmed Skateland in between Twilight and New Moon, also has wrapped Warrior, now in post-production, which stars Twilight buddy Kellan Lutz. “I got done with Twilight and went independent-crazy,” Greene says.

Indies aside, she just landed the lead in The Apparition, a big-budget Warner Bros. thriller being produced by The Matrix’s Joel Silver.”

Ashley Greene Coming Up in Teen Prom

According to Entertainment Tonight, “Ashley, whose Teen Prom issue hits newsstands Dec. 22, also showed off a bruise on her arm (rendered practically invisible with makeup) that she sustained while training for the eagerly awaited third ‘Twilight’ film, ‘Eclipse.’

“Until I had to shoot in prom dresses, I didn’t get any bruises. I was doing really well,” she smiled. “It’s horrible, but it’s been really fun. [Our moves] will look really, really good by the time we finally get to the fight sequence because in ‘Eclipse’ … we have to fight this new-born vampire army.”
