Dakota Fanning Makes Best Actress Under 25 List

Film.com has released their Best Actress Under 25 List, and Dakota Fanning has made the cut.

Dakota Fanning
Age: 16
Let’s forget about the brooding little vampire she plays in the Twilight series. Can you say “paycheck”? Fanning started out young, mostly with roles on TV, and even graced an episode of Malcolm in the Middle like Emma Stone did. Fanning worked her way up, changing with the times and taking on more and more demanding roles. This past year she stepped into maybe her most demanding role yet — Cherie Currie in the band biopic The Runaways. Fanning takes on a lot for the role of the rock star who found herself buried in a life of drugs, booze, and sex at such a young age. One of the most interesting aspects of her role was that Fanning was the same age as Currie was during filming. Fanning portrays a young girl’s foray into the world of rock ‘n’ roll just as you’d expect it to happen. She’s come a long way since the screaming, crying girl running from killer aliens in War of the Worlds. The wide-eyed look of horror she sported in so many of her earlier films as a child has given way to a mature actress who is evolving with the types of roles she’s accepting.”

The list includes Ellen Page and Amanda Seyfried See the entire list in Film.com

Drew Roy Not in Breaking Dawn

Apparently rumor broke that Drew Roy of Hannah Montana fame was cast in Breaking Dawn. In fact the rumor even got to his parents. Drew told Marc Malken at E!

“I am as surprised as you are on that one,” the 24-year-old Alabama native says. “I got a call from my dad the other day and he was like, ‘Oh, whoa son! You didn’t tell us that you were up for a film?’ I was like, ‘I didn’t know either.’ So yeah, it’s just a full-blown rumor.”

Drew seems to be the only actor of late not leaping on the Twilight bandwagon. See more of the story on E!

Kristen Stewart Tonight Show Behind the Scenes

There is now green room footage from Kristen Stewart’s appearance on the Tonight Show.

Kellan Lutz Interviewed For Spanish Entertainment Talk Show

The interview flips to English as soon as they start talking to Kellan. Even if you don’t speak Spanish, you can pretty much guess what they are saying just by the facial expressions and photo montage alone.

Super Christian Camargo Interview: Holland Festival

Christian Carmago, who will be playing Eleazar in Breaking Dawn, was interviewed as part of the Holland Festival. In the festival, Christian was playing in acclaimed Shakespearean productions that have been touring the globe directed by Sam Mendes (film director of American Beauty, Road to Perdition, and more) that were winning them both rave reviews. The intro is in Dutch, but after the first 30 seconds or so it switches to English. Christian talks about his acting acting experiences, his approach to theater, and more. You get a really great sense of how dedicated he is to the craft of acting.

Site Update: Character Bios

About a month ago we put out a request for help updating the character bios section of the Lexicon.  We had so many great submissions that it was difficult to decide on just one person.  Given that my own time is limited currently with my mother’s health issues, we decided on two fantastic members of the site to fill out our team and bring the site up to date.

Our first choice was a long time member that many of you may know from her many posts on the message boards – Lady Di.  She has been fast at work on all the Quileute bios, many of which have been updated and are ready to be viewed.  Our second choice is a member that hasn’t been as vocal on the site but who we have met over and over again at the various conventions.  Anny was at our very first Creation Convention in Atlanta, but we’ve also seen her in LA, Portland, and I believe Newark.  She can correct me if I’m wrong!  Anny has been working on the Denali Coven as well as some humans.  We will see her work in our next update.

For now you can enjoy the updated bios of: Leah Clearwater, Sue Clearwater, Harry Clearwater, Old Quil, Collin, Claire, Kim, as well as two new bios for Rachel and Rebecca Black!

Tinsel Korey Supports One Warm Kid Campaign

According to the campaign’s press release:

P.S. from Aeropostale, a mall-based specialty retailer of casual and active apparel for young women and men, today announced that it has partnered with nonprofit One Warm Coat to create its first annual ‘1 Warm Kid‘ campaign, a coat drive for kids that will run from October 11, 2010 through October 31, 2010 at P.S. from Aeropostale locations across the country.  In support of the campaign, P.S. from Aeropostale will match every donated coat with a brand new coat up to 100,000.

’1 Warm Kid’ aims to raise awareness of the growing numbers of families living in poverty and to collect as many coats as possible, all of which will be donated to local agencies where they will be distributed to families in need this winter.  A growing list of celebrities are lending their support to the campaign and encouraging others to participate.  Those who donate will have the chance to win signed coats from Ellen DeGeneres, Courteney Cox and David Arquette, Cole and Dylan Sprouse (“Suite Life on Deck”), Debby Ryan (“Suite Life on Deck”). Jennette McCurdy (“iCarly”), Devid Henrie (“Wizards of Waverly Place”), David Del Rio (“The Troop”), Tinsel Korey (“Twilight”), and more.

“1 in 5 kids live in poverty. It’s startling to learn of how many families struggle to have the basic necessities, such as a coat,” said Scott Birnbaum, Senior Vice President of Marketing of Aeropostale, Inc.  ”1 Warm Kid will provide warmth to many families this winter and shed light on this growing epidemic.”

A driving force behind the success of ’1 Warm Kid’ is P.S. from Aeropostale’s relationship with the schools in its local communities.  Through their partnership with One Warm Coat, more than 1600 schools were invited to participate in the coat drive.  To activate students and entice school participation, P.S. from Aeropostale is awarding prizes to the top three schools that collect the most coats.  First prize school will win $5,000 and a party in their school.  The second and third place schools will win $3,000 and $1,000, respectively.

“We are excited to have the support and encouragement from schools across the country,” said One Warm Coat President Sherri Lewis Wood.  ”We know school kids can be a powerful force in community service. 1 Warm Kid provides them with an opportunity that is easy to implement and will have an immediate impact in their own community.”

In addition to the schools organizing drives, P.S. from Aeropostale welcomes individual donations as well.  As an extra incentive for anyone who donates, P.S. from Aeropostale will give 25% off your next purchase, though no purchase is necessary.

Access Hollywood: Breaking Dawn I, 2nd Most Anticipated Film of 2011

breaking_dawncoverAccording to Access Hollywood:

#2 – “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part I”
Starring: Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner
Directed by: Bill Condon
Release date: November 18, 2011

Why we’re excited: Why aren’t we excited is the better question. What better way to kick off the beginning of the end of “The Twilight Saga” then with a little vampire-human wedding & honeymoon action! Plus, we all know what happens on the honeymoon, right???… Room service! No? Hmm. OK, how ‘bout this — “There will be sex scenes – multiple sex scenes,” screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg previously told Access Hollywood of the romance we’ll see between Edward and Bella. Hey now! Summit has yet to announce exactly where the “Breaking Dawn” storyline will be split, but Part I will begin to put the bow on this pop culture-transcending saga, which has turned vampires and werewolves from cheap Halloween decorations to every kid’s favorite supernatural bestie. Whether you’re Team Edward or Team Jacob or even Team Whatever Happened To That Nice Rachelle LeFevere, grab your lawn chairs and get in line – there’s only 14 months until opening night – knowing the “Twi-Hards,” the good seats are probably already taken!”

The number one anticipated film honor goes to Deathly Hallows part II. It’s hard to feel bad about losing the number one spot to the ten-year in the making conclusion of the Harry Potter movies. What’s also really noticeable is the release date. Breaking Dawn is without competition for that Thanksgiving box office spot just like it had for Twilight and New Moon. The other films on the list are all Christmas, July 4, or Memorial Day release where there are multiple blockbusters debuting.

This past summer, Eclipse got lucky when anticipated summer blockbusters like Robin Hood and The Last Airbender fizzled fast. Only Inception lived up to the hype and its budget. Other summer films are hoping to recoup budget in the DVD market-not something Eclipse has to worry about.

Maggie Grace Co-Stars in Faster

If you want to see Maggie Grace on the big screen before Breaking Dawn you have a chance in November when Faster open. Maggie Grace Co-stars along with Dwayne Johnson (AKA The Rock).

According to Collider:

“Dwayne Johnson is looking to push into more action after a slew of kid-friendly flicks and CBS Films’ Faster is his re-entry into the genre. George Tillman, Jr. (Soul Food, Barbershop) will direct the hard-nosed revenge flick, written by Joe and Tony Gayton (Bulletproof). The flick has already received an R rating and the new clip certainly shows its violent and sexy side.”

Maggie appears prominently starting at the 1:24 mark through the end. The trailer has been rated R for violence. Personal opinion, nothing too, too gory but certainly images of violence involving guns and a knife, so click at your own risk.

Kellan Lutz at the Sitges Festival 2010

Last year Jamie Campbell-Bower attended the Sitges Festival and got a warm welcome. This year. Kellan Lutz wowed the crowd speaking a little Spanish and talking about the films and himself. Shout out to our friend Javier from Crepusculo who we are pretty sure based on the fuzzy images was one stage doing the Q&A! Back in 2006 there were only three sites other than MySpace that were large that covered Twilight: The Lexicon, Twilighers Italia, and Crepusculo. They also had a follow up interview with Kellan that you can find here.
