Nikki Reed: Gurl Magazine Interview

Nikki_Photo_dosomethignWe just got to meet Nikki Reed at the Creation Entertainment Official Twilight Convention in Minneapolis. What really strikes you is Nikki’s openness with the fans the very different life that she has lead, not at all the typical Hollywood starlet story.

In part of her interview, to talk about her new movie The Last Day of Summer, Nikki talks about how hard it is for young girls to find themselves and her take how to pick your path.

Ok, so aside from getting braces, what advice would you give gURLs who also feel like they don’t really fit in?

I think it’s important for people to experience. I don’t like when advice is given and it just feels so unrealistic, like, “Oh, just stay true to yourself and don’t ever join the cool crowd.” So just experiment and experience everything, but to a limit. Mildly. See things and do things but don’t lose yourself and don’t forget yourself in the process because it’s really so minor in the grand scheme of things.

So true. Thanks for the reminder! We needed that!

Yeah! Even now at 22, I’m just starting to grasp the concept that there’s so much life ahead of me. It really becomes more about your family and your life so just make good choices and take care of yourself. If you wanna party and stuff and that’s what you feel you need to do, then try to do good in school also so that you can get somewhere. ”

See the whole interview on Gurl.

For those of you doing last minute back-to-school shopping this weekend (believe it or not school hasn’t started yet for those of us who are in the Northeast) Nikki has an ongoing campaign with DoSomething.org to get school supplies to kids who need them.

Fanjunket With Stephenie Meyer: The Volturi and Music

In this weeks Fanjunket release, Twilight Series Theories has a full write up of mostly new material on the Volturi, what Stephenie finds dangerous, and music. You can listen to the audio or read the write up. Even if you hit some repeat material covered on other sites, there is more new material and you can see how the overall ideas in the conversation flowed from one thing to the next. It igves a great (in our opinion) big picture view.

Here’s a snippet:

SM: I mean it’s funny because I always use zombies as an example like how monsters you’re supposed to be able to look at…And see that’s…I find it so much more frightening when you can’t tell.  You know because it’s like I never really got scared over monster movies and I found I didn’t watch a lot of horror, the ones that scared me were like psycho because he looks like a nice guy and that’s when you don’t know.  And that’s the scary thing because you walk out of your house and there isn’t a dinosaur about to eat you but there is a guy right over there and what if he’s a psychopath?  And I’ve always been fascinated with appearances because evil doesn’t appear evil, it doesn’t.  It’s clean and shiny and pretty.  The Volturi are kind of, they’re villains that got to have 3,000 years to refine themselves into [this] perfect powerful presence, and they’re fun.  It’s fun to show vampires at the very pinnacle of that power, although they’re not really at the…They are very dark but you know you have a whole different kind.  You kind of figure with vampires the whole, like the more wild and blood-thirsty, but this is just such a controlling and patient kind of evil.

Elysa: That’s what creeps me out!

SM: The patience is…Well and one thing, Aro in particular, the really really darkest thing for me about him is that he can honestly love someone and still kill them if it gets in his way; like his sister who he honestly loved, who was like the most important person in his world, but she got in the way of his ambition and he could kill her and grieve her but grieve over what he had done but still do it because that was okay to him in his world. And when you can do that, when you can cross that line—shivers.”

Kellan Lutz Montreal Paparazzo Incident

According to CBC, Kellan Lutz had a run in with an aggressive paparazzo while filming the Immortals in Montreal. The case, according to the paparazzo, might be being dropped (against him anyway).

“A Vancouver paparazzo says Montreal police are no longer investigating him in connection with an incident involving an alleged hit and run with a Twilight movie star.

According to court documents obtained by CBC News, actor Kellan Lutz claimed he was struck by a car driven by paparazzo Richard Fedyck while on a film set in Montreal this summer.

The driver allegedly backed up into Lutz and then left the scene after the incident without stopping.

The documents said Lutz feared for his safety after the alleged incident on the set of a movie Immortals, which was not connected with the Twilight films.

Richmond RCMP filed the documents in B.C. provincial court in July at the request of Montreal police, who said Fedyck may be a suspect in the hit and run and in the alleged criminal harassment of Lutz.

RCMP said the driver’s licence photo of Fedyck was needed to identify or eliminate him as a suspect.”

Richard Fedyck is probably better known to Twilight fans as PunkD_Images on Twitter(he’s currently commenting on the case his Twitter, warning on language), the photographer that Lainey Gossip frequently uses. He was also the person who hired a helicopter to buzz the set of Eclipse during reshoots, and the individual who tweeted out Stephenie Meyers exact flight details and told Phoenix area fans to meet her at the airport.

CBC has more here including several  quotes from Fedyck stating all charges against him have no merit.

Taylor Lautner’s RV Lawsuit Settled

US Magazine got the the scoop on this one. According to US:

“McMahon’s RV has agreed to settle its dispute with Taylor Lautner. McMahon’s RV will pay $40,000 to Lautner, which Lautner will donate to The Lollipop Theater Network, a children’s charity with which he has a long-standing relationship,” Lautner’s attorney Robert Barta tells UsMagazine.com exclusively.

Adds Barta: “The Lollipop Theater Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing movies currently in theaters to children confined to hospitals due to chronic or life-threatening illnesses. The Lollipop Theater Network works with hospitals nationwide, including the greater Los Angeles and Orange County areas.”

There are more details on US including a statement about an emotional distress clause being a standard legal clause(which we said in our previous coverage). Taylor was not a diva with an emotional breakdown. It’s amazing how some sites, particularly gossip sites run by ex-attorneys overlooked that fact.

Baton Rouge Gearing Up For Breaking Dawn

Bill condon handBaton Rouge businesses are looking forward to the economic boom that the filming of Breaking Dawn is likely to bring from those directly involved with the film to visitors hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite actor.

According to the local ABC affiliate:

“For confidentiality reasons, we can’t talk specifics about productions that we’re dealing with,” said Patrick Mulhearn, Director of Studio Operations at Celtic Studios.

“Well, there’s not too much I can say about the details of ‘Twilight,'” said Chris Stelly, Director of Film Industry Development with the Louisiana Economic Development.

While the movie’s publicist will only say the “when” for production kickoff is late this fall, a commercial real estate agent says one of his lease properties is where pre-production is in full swing.”

Both Melissa Rosenberg and Bill Condon(seen above) have been spotted in town from time to time. It’s been widely publicized that actual filming will take place in November and principal photography might be slightly ahead of that schedule. The actual filming is likely to  be mostly indoors on a soundstage making getting a look at actual filming unlikely.

Similar secrecy surrounded Eclipse with only some outdoor scenes involving Xavier Samuel and Bryce Dallas Howard being spotted by fans waiting on sidelines.
