EW Sexy Beast 2010 Final Results

It was a very tight race in the final bracket between Vampire Diaries Ian Somerhalder who plays Damon and Robert Pattinson. Here’s what happened according to EW:
“Still, the final Edward-v.-Damon showdown trumped ‘em all. Our polls were open for 72 hours, and midway through the final day of voting, the virile vampires were separated by less than 200 votes. With six hours remaining, and our finalists still locked in a statistical dead-heat, EW.com’s Sexy Beast special-ops team decided to hide our poll results, and began to plan a special issue of Entertainment Weekly commemorating a tournament that had becoming nothing short of an Internet sensation. When the blood, sweat, and broken fangs were wiped away, who was the winner? Let this be the official reveal: Damon Salvatore eked out a mild upset victory over Edward Cullen by a margin of 138,630 to 134,728, a difference of just 3,902 votes.”

ABC examines older women crushing on the younger actors on Twilight.
“Jill Etesse was hooked on the “Twilight” books the second she cracked the series opener. She ripped through the saga on paper and rented movie No. 1.Then the madness began.
“I joined the lines of teens for ‘New Moon,'” said the 38-year-old mom of two. “My husband is deathly embarrassed. Half my friends think I’m crazy.”
Etesse, from Leesburg, Va., won’t let her 8-year-old daughter anywhere near Team Edward OR Team Jacob, but did she take herself to “Eclipse” this summer? “Oh yeah.”
Is there something, um, icky about moms lusting after the boys of “Twilight” or other morsels of ripe screen candy? Heck no, said 54-year-old Toni Downey of Limerick, Pa. We’re not dead yet!”

All of this makes us wonder why people find any of this surprising. Do people question 50-year-old men crushing on Megan Fox? Hugh Hefner who is over 80 has been surrounding himself with 20-year-olds for decades.
In case anyone is wondering, after New Moon came out the entire original cast of Twilight except for Taylor Lautner were all over 18, and Taylor reached that benchmark as few months later. Currently, the only members of the principal cast who are under 18 are Jodelle Ferland, Booboo Stewart, and Cameron Bright.

Wolfpack Wednesday: Alex Meraz Artistic Autographed Photo

There’s a bit of a story that goes along with this one.
If you remember, the other day we told you about a tablecloth that Alex Meraz doodled on and created a work of art that both Laura (pel) and Chaske Spencer said would be fabulous on tee shirts. Laura had also mentioned to Alex how much people on the Lexicon enjoyed his original art, especially the print entitled “Faith”. You can find prints on Alex’s website.
Well, before our blog story covering what happened in detail, Laura did a short tweet about it and put Alex’s Meraz’s twitter name in the tweet. So, lots of people retweeted the info and gave positive comments about the art, and because Alex’s twitter name was in the original tweet, he got lots of feedback and he really enjoyed that.
So, after a really long convention weekend, Laura went into the room where the actors wait until they are needed. She saw Alex at one of the desks in the room embellishing a bunch of his signed headshots. Laura asked him what he was doing thinking he was going to donate the items to an auction or put them on his website. Alex replied, “You really made me think about taking my artwork into other mediums. I’m doing these for you to give away on your website for being so supportive about my artwork.”
Laura was stunned. This was after Alex had been at the convention for two days, had done long photo ops, private meet and greets, and Q & A’s, AND in like 10 minutes he was doing another signing for at least 100 people before he had to run to his flight. She stammered out “Thank you so much!”, amazed that Alex would do one of those for us unsolicited let alone three of them.
So, we are giving away one of Alex’s special embellished autographed photos and we’ll give away the other two down the road.

Puerto Rico: Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz Are Coming For Dominoes

Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz are headed to Puerto Rico for Dominoes, and we don’t mean the pizza chain. Dominoes is a really popular pastime in many Spanish speaking Caribbean islands. So Kellan, Ashley, and a bunch of other celebrities are going to play in a tournament for charity.
According to the translation from the Primera Hora news site:
“A group of Hollywood celebrities is all set to travel to Vieques during Labor Day weekend. They will be participating in this year’s Hollywood Domino A-sea benefit. Hollywood Domino A-sea is a nonprofit foundation that helps children who are burn victims…Dayanara Fernandez, creator of the event, said that among his list of guests this year include at least ten Hollywood celebrities.”
