Melissa and Wyck are up next.
Stephenie what has been your experience? There was some closure with final night of shooting. She’s not sure how she’ll fell when it really ends.
Stephenie wedding experience:
Emotional, she was somewhat prepared having been around with Kristen’s wedding dress. She was less nervous being with Melissa and Wyck
On Stephenie continuing the series:
She has pieces of various other things in computer but right now she is focused on other things. So who knows?
Working in Louisiana: Wyck great place to work money wise and production wise.
Steph prefers to do book to screen adaptations. She loves that process. She’s thought about going straight to screen but wants the book first for now.
Melissa always feels like a visitor in Steph’s universe. If Steph is happy, she is happy. Steph is a great collaborator.
Stephenie’s soundtrack is still the originals on her website, but she likes the songs that go with the movie
Steph on Kristen as a mother– It was so cool she’s so focused. She switched back and forth
Steph– I’m not saying breaking Dawn doesn’t get weird. It does. But I don’t think about sexual politics 100 years ago women could die giving birth wanted. I’m not saying people should find their life philosophy from me it’s never been about this.
MY question (Steph says “Hi Laura” and whole room looks at me): I ask her what are her favorite alternate POV scenes. Melissa says anything Volutiri. Stephenie says it all starts to blend but anything Michael Sheen.
The birth scene was emotional despite being covered in raspberry jelly. Rob’s performance was amazing according to Stephenie. Everyone on the sidelines cried.
Being on film sets have given Stephenie new experiences. She now has new experiences to write about.
Film in two parts:
Melissa and Stephenie felt too much would be left out in one. Wyck thought one would be better intially and then realzed it should be two
First viewing of film: Wyck, whew!
Steph: hoping was good and then got so caught up forgot to write notes.
Melissa was so happy with the script to screen transition. She wasn’t nervous; Bill nailed it.
Melissa was tired going into this but “got her mojo back” because of collaboration with Stephenie and the energy of Bill Condon. Initially she thought Bill Condon might want to write it.
At one point Melissa left her script and all production notes in a bathroom in Baton Rogue there was an all points search when they realized what happened. Melissa wanted to die in a nervous panic.
Melissa feels that colaborting on another work is great and she loves working with other writers rather than create from scratch
