Justin vrs Twilight: The Fans Opinion

Forget the Edward/Jacob battle.  The real debate over hotness is between The Bieb and the TwiGuys!  Always the source for what’s really happening in pop culture, MTV has gone to the fans for the ultimate debate on who’s hotter – Justin Bieber or the Twilight guys.  As one Bieber freak put it:

“He’s the one that I worship,” Christina gushed. “His music is amazing — it would save the world.” Micaela added, “He’s freakin’ amazing! Taylor Lautner does not sing, neither does Edward, and they’re not even that hot as Justin Bieber.”

Read the whole story at MTV.

You know our opinion, but we want to hear yours!  Who do you think is hotter?  Let us know in the comments!

The Truth Behind The Dating/Hair Comments from Rob and Justin

In the last few weeks there has been quite a stir in both the Twilight and the Bieber communities over the idea that Rob has given Justin advise on his hair.  The comment first appeared in the UK mag The People and was covered by thousands of blogs all over the country. Here’s the story on OK!   Justin was quoted as saying:

“One day Robert Pattinson came up to me at a party and said, ‘For whatever reason, people love our hair and it’s always a great ice-breaker with girls.’ He is like, ‘Hey my name’s Robert. Want to touch my hair?’ I thought he was joking, but it really works…”

Then in his very long, drawn out interview with MTV, Rob had this to say about The Bieb and the hair comment.

The story became such a huge debate that MSNBC actually took note and sought out a way to get to the bottom of things. As it turns out, Justin was misquoted and has never met Rob.  We’re just glad that the whole misunderstanding has been cleared up and that Twi-hards and Bliebers can continue obsessing over their favorites without worry that anyone lied!

Wendell Pierce: Confirmed as a Human in Breaking Dawn

New York Magazine has an interview with Wendell Pierce. Wendell clarifies why he got involved with a Twilight Saga film.

You’re in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn later this year. What draws you to teen heartthrob vampire movies?
I never thought I’d get to the point where I’d be one of those actors who says, “I did this for my kids,” but I really did. I have some teenage nieces and a nephew, and they never get to see anything I do. “Yeah, you did The Wire, and I see you in Treme”; and, “Yeah, you guys won the Peabody, that’s nice and that’s cool.” When they found out I was in Twilight, oh my God. “Uncle Wendell’s in Twilight!”

What’s your role?
I am actually a human. I’m not a werewolf; I’m not a vampire. I’m a human.

We still have no idea who he plays. Guesses anyone?

Jackson Rathbone on OMG With Peaches Geldof

We’re not really sure what the whole program was about, maybe someone in the UK who saw it can fill us in, but NuttyMadam from YouTube was featured. We’re trying to track down the Chaske Footage from the same program now.

Edited: NuttyMadam who was on the program has gotten in touch. She has the Chaske footage and she’s going to write a piece for us on the whole show so we can understand it all in context.

USA Today Covers the International Fan Winners and Stephenie Meyer

The winners of the international meet Stephenie Meyer contest met with her over the weekend and USA Today was there.  They discussed the books and movies and more. This is one of those DON’T MISS IT articles folks! Read it all!

Some highlights:

•On the illustrated guide: “My favorite part is the vampire histories. There’s a lot there that’s new. Alice’s (Cullen) back story is one no one has known until now. And I think fans will be surprised at how much fun (Cullen nemesis) Victoria’s story is.”

•On whether she’ll ever write more books about Edward and Bella: “The story’s already been told, and I doubt I’ll ever write another series based on the same characters.”

•On the possibility she’d ever finish Midnight Sun, a Twilight novel told from Edward’s viewpoint that she nixed when parts of it were leaked online in 2008: “I’m hoping to do it someday because I know that’s what people want. No matter what book I put out from here to eternity they’ll want Midnight Sun, but I’m just not writing about vampires right now.

Some mysteries remain
One question she won’t answer: whether the werewolf/shape shifter Jacob and Renesmee, the human/vampire hybrid child of Edward and Bella, could ever have children. (Jacob is a teenager, but baby Renesmee is aging at an accelerated rate.) “That is a question I’m reserving the right not to answer, because there is a chance I’ll go back to their story.”

The Volvo: Breaking Dawn Style

As you all probably know, Edward’s Volvo in the Twilight movies is not the model mentioned in the books. The particular model is no longer being produced.  In general the fan reaction to the vehicle used in New Moon and Eclipse was not favorable on two fronts:

1) It was a dark grey that read as black on film instead of the bright silver mentioned in the novels

2) It was an SUV and not a sedan/sports car. Many fans started the cry, “Since when is Edward a soccer mom?”

Well it looks like we may just be in luck. Alison from Twifans was up in Vancouver last week and she managed to snag a series of pictures of what she believes is the Volvo model for Breaking Dawn.  In short, the sports car look is back folks!

There is a really good side by side comparison of the photo and the car as it appears on Volvo’s official site on TwiFans, along with the story of how they got the photos hoping for the best while driving down a public road.

According to Alison:

“We went to straight to the Volvo website and started comparing wheels, tail-lights, spoilers, and colors.  After an hour (or two) of dissecting the vehicle from top to bottom we concluded with certainty that Edward’s ‘Breaking Dawn’ Volvo is a S60 R-9 design series.” There is a great 360 view of the car on Volvo’s site.

You can find the full story of the adventure on TwiFans here. (at the moment it is requiring login, but that might be a temp glitch) They have changed their site requirements the login is now mandatory.

Movie Mazzupial Talks to Jodelle Ferland About Twilight and the Future

jodelleBreeBurnJodelle Ferland was in Australia for their SuperNova Convention and Movie Mazzupial caught up with her:

MM: (Laughs) Okay, thanks, that makes me feel a bit better. Now, straight to it; tell me about your experience working on Eclipse. That set that shoot must have been incredible?

JK: It was absolutely amazing, I was so shocked when I found out I got the part. Oh my gosh, I couldn’t believe I got to be a part of this amazing series of movies. On set it was so unreal seeing all the actors who you forget are real people because you’re so used to seeing them on posters and in magazines everyday. But they were all such nice people and so down to Earth.

MM: Once you got the role of Bree, did you have any idea just how coveted that character was and how much people wanted to be a part of the film?

JK: Wow, if everybody wanted it as badly as I did then a lot of people were disappointed. I wanted it pretty badly and honestly, I didn’t think I would get it. I try not get my hopes up, especially for something as big at that. Only the first movie had come out at that point (when I got the part) and I had just finished reading the last book and thought they were amazing, Stephenie Meyer is great writer.”
