Rolling Stone: Nikki Reed on Song Recorded With Husband Paul McDonald

Nikki Reed talked to Rolling Stone about her new musical venture: “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1 actress Nikki Reed stopped by the Rolling Stone studio this week to chat about “Now That I Found You,” the song she co-wrote with her husband, former American Idol contestant Paul McDonald. “The only person that inspires what I write about is Paul,” says Reed. “At least with this song, and any song that is sort of a love song.” Reed also talks about loving everyone from the Head and the Heart to Jay-Z — and why her Twilight character, Rosalie, would love Adele.”

Nikki also performed it live in a Barnes and Noble in Long Island where she and Paul did a signing.

Where are the majority of the Twilight Fans Located?

Goodreads did a study as to where Twilight is more popular. Hilariously we could have told them this just based upon where people show up for Twilight conventions in droves.

There is no more divisive book on Goodreads than Twilight. It manages to top both our Best Books Ever and Worst Books of All Time lists. And now, surprisingly, we’ve discovered that where you live can indicate whether you’re a Twi-Hard or not.

With the release of the film adaption of Breaking Dawn (well, the first half of the film adaptation), we thought it might be fun to dive into some more of the incredible trove of data we have on the Twilight Saga and its readers.

A map of what each state thinks of Twilight ends up looking a lot like a map of the most recent election results. On the map above, the readers in the red states rated the book highly (the darker the red, the higher the rating), while readers in the blue states gave it a lower rating). The Midwest and the South represent The Twilight Belt, while the coasts were decidedly less impressed with the book.

Breaking Dawn Part 1 Pulls in $72 million on Friday: Number Three on All Time Record List

Breaking Dawn is raking right up there with previous films’ box office results. According to THR:

Bringing the domestic box office to life, Summit Entertainment’s The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 grossed $72 million on Friday for a projected weekend opening in the $140 million range. Bowing day and date in 54 territories, the film has grossed another $66 million internationally.

The Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner starrer is performing just slightly behind The Twilight Saga: New Moon, which opened on the same weekend two years ago to $142.8 million after grossing $72.7 million on Friday.

Breaking Dawn scored the third biggest opening day ever after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 ($91.1 million) and New Moon.

Keep in mind the Friday number is solid, but the weekend is a projection. Those numbers won’t be solid until Monday afternoon. Regardless, Breaking Dawn is selling ahead of Eclipse and just slightly behind New Moon (the record holder until it was overtaken by the final Potter installment). Franchises typically open big and the follow up films don’t do as well. Breaking Dawn is one of the few films to break this trend.
