Melissa Rosenberg Wants Your Questions!

Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg has asked fans to submit questions via her facebook page for her to answer during the press junket this weekend.  Here is what she had to say:

Submit your questions! Tomorrow, I’ll be at the press junket for Breaking Dawn, and while I’ll talk to a number of journalists who’ve seen the film, I really want to answer YOUR questions. Submit your questions below, and I’ll post video responses starting next week and leading up to the release of the film. Ask anything you want! I want to hear from you. xoxo Mel

This is a fantastic opportunity to have contact with the screenwriter, something fans rarely get to do!  Thanks go to Melissa for being so open and willing to communicate with the fans.

Bill Condon and Melissa Rosenberg Officially Added to Twilight Convention

This just in from Creation Entertainment:

The convention this year will be even more extraordinary than last.  We have some very cool surprises in store for our fellow fans and we remain grateful to our friends at Summit for allowing us the opportunity to bring this highly unprecedented event for all to enjoy.   We are VERY happy to welcome director of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Parts 1 & 2 Bill Condon and the very talented screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg who has written all the screenplays for the Saga.   Both of these new stars will appear on Saturday bringing our Twilight celebrity attendance up to a record breaking 18 stars including the highly anticipated appearance of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner as well as The Cullen Family!

Gary Berman, co-CEO of Creation Entertainment, producing this weekend’s event with Summit Entertainment, stated that the response to the convention has been nothing short of extraordinary.  “We are so pleased to join with our friends at Summit to deliver what we think will be an amazingly fun weekend for all Twilight fans that have been so very supportive of the productions from the very start.  We can’t wait until the Northern American movie release date of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1November 18 but the convention will help keep us going until then and we have some very cool surprises at the event to share too!”

Berman also stated that it was important to the production team for the convention to bring the weekend’s festivities to one of Hollywood’s legendary hotels and meeting spaces.  The Hyatt Regency Century Plaza is absolutely the correct historic meeting place and the Twilight Saga has made film and fan history deserving of such a prestigious location.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in Italy’s Vanity Fair

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart talk about the wedding in Italy’s Vanity Fair.

First Question: and you, what do you think about weddings?
Rob: I don’t know until now, I’ve been at around twenty funerals and just 2 weddings, certainly for what I saw they’re more fun than the funerals.

But, didn’t you got emotional after the ring exchange?

Rob: the truth? I think that the major part of the men who get married, live the same kind of experience: you stay there, waiting.. the wedding day is a woman’s thing, it’s their day. It was different for Kristen: the dress, walking to the altar, the music. I got away with an “you are very pretty, let’s get married!”

Kristen: I have to admit it, I felt like a real bride: at the center of the attention, in a wonderful dress.. for that scene everybody had to leave their phones before entering: the dress had to be kept a secret.

Jennifer Lawrence Trying to Downplay Hunger Games and Twilight Comparisons

When Twilight first rose to media heights in 2006 it was constantly being compared to Harry Potter. Most fans found that kind of silly because the only real comparison was on number of books sold if you took them novel-by-novel, and later movie sales. Now as Twilight is entering its final movies it’s inevitable that that people are now asked “Is The Hunger Games the next Twilight?”  instead of  “Is Twilight the next Harry Potter?”  Again it seems kind of silly because The Hunger Games doesn’t really have anything in common with Twilight (or Harry Potter for that matter) except sales totals.

Here’s what The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence had to say to Vanity Fair when asked what is probably going to be the long-running annoying question that she will have to deal with.

Do you worry at all about the film becoming a massive phenomenon in the way of Twilight—and what that will mean for your personal and professional life?

I try not to think too much about it. Hunger Games is not Twilight, and while I hear the comparisons, it’s really premature to say that it will be the same phenomenon. I’m so proud of the work we did on the film—Gary and the entire cast and crew were amazing, and I can’t wait for it to be brought to life because I think it’s an important story. If it does become a crazy phenomenon, I’ll soak up my freedom now!

Don’t feel too badly Jennifer. At some point someone will be asking “Is the Mortal Instruments the next The Hunger Games?”

The good part, as far as we can tell, is that lots of Twilight fans are also The Hunger Games fans, and more importantly people are obsessed because THEY READ THE BOOKS!
