The Host Will Be A Three Movie Series
Screenwriter and director of The Host, Andrew Niccol, talked to his hometown paper the New Zealand Herald about his current project , In Time, and his next one, The Host.
His next project will be as director and writer of The Host, adapting the best-selling novel by Twilight author Stephanie Meyer about aliens inhabiting human life forms.
“It’s a liberating feeling that I’ll be directing something I haven’t had to make up. It’ll be fun. But I have to say, Stephanie gave me her 650-page book to adapt. That’s a workout to start with but I’ve managed to get it down to a script and there are two more movies coming after the initial movie,” he says. Clearly, he enjoys a challenge. “Well, yes. At first I thought, ‘this is going to be impossible’.”
Stephenie Meyer has always said that she envisioned The Host as a trilogy: The Host, The Seeker, The Soul

Camping Out For the Twilight Premiere: A Look Back at the Previous Camp Outs
Everyone who is a Twilight fan knows that we camp out for events. If there is one thing that we are used to, it’s standing on long lines…overnight. This week in Laura’s Movies.com column she looks back at the premiere camping experience from its early days in Westwood with Twilight and New Moon, to the move downtown to LA Live with Eclipse and now Breaking Dawn.
Camping out for events has become practically synonymous with The Twilight Saga. This is especially true if the event involves limited seating/viewing and “The Big Trio”, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner. Camping has become so pervasive that Summit Entertainment has issued camping guidelines for the second year in a row, just to keep it all going smoothly and to ensure fan safety. So, let’s take a look back at the whole premiere camping experience.
When the original Twilight came out in November 2008, fans started showing up in the Westwood area roughly two to three days before. At that time, the film had its premiere in the Mann Theatres that are paired across the street from each other. Reporters took note of the intensity of the red carpet, discovering that fans had slept out over two nights; something that never happens when it comes to independent films. There was definitely a passionate presence and a level of screaming on the red carpet that was new to many.  Veteran actors in the cast like Billy Burke quipped, “I’ve never f***ing seen anything like this.” At one point, when I was trying to communicate with the Twilight Lexicon staff reporter on site, I had to resort to text messaging because I couldn’t hear her over the non-stop screaming.
Well, if people thought Twilight was crowded, a year later New Moon produced a veritable swarm.

The photo is of who I like to think of as the reigning gold medalists of Twilight camping, Alison and company of TwiFans. As I’ve said before, they have raised event camping to an art form! They have some really fabulous advice here if you have never camped before.

Christina Perri Spills the Beans on an Artist and Actor Breaking Dawn Tour
According to The Hollywood Reporter (yet to be confirmed by Summit so realize these dates and locations may not be 100% solid):
Twilight is hitting the road for a unique run of promotional dates. From Nov. 7 through Nov. 11, one week before The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 opens nationally, select members of the movie’s cast along with musicians featured on the soundtrack will make appearances in five U.S. cities.
Exactly which Twilight characters will appear in the flesh has yet to be revealed, but the mini-tour kicks off in Atlanta and will travel to concert venues in Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco and Salt Lake City. Singer Christina Perri (slated to play three dates), Aqualung & Lucy Schwartz and Sleeping At Last (booked for other two dates) will each perform a brief set including the song they contributed to the movie’s soundtrack.
They quote Perri as saying:
The video for “A Thousand Years” will premiere on Nov. 17. In the meantime, Perri is looking forward to the great unknown. “They’re so secretive about everything,” she says of Summit Entertainment’s rollout plan for the tour. “But I hear there’s a private plane involved and I think it’s the Cullens that will be [on it] — the family, all the siblings and maybe some werewolves. But it doesn’t matter to me. I’d be stoked if it was an extra from the movies… If you would’ve told the Christina Perri of 2007 –who was waitressing all day and coming home every night to read one page of Twilight at a time, so it wouldn’t run out — that four years from now, she was going to be on a private plane with the cast, I think I would’ve passed out. It’s going to be a very surreal moment.”
Hopefully this will pan out. Having a music tour is a brilliant concept with these indie bands, too bad it hasn’t happened before! We’ve come a long way from those Hot Topic mall tours!
