We are breaking down the images from the 15 second teaser to the longer trailer coming on the 12th or maybe the 13th…there’s some debate. In any case check out our analysis.

This shot is the one that we wonder about the most. Is Jake in it pretending to be on Sam’s side (based on Comic Con footage) or is he in the house with Bella and Rose (the only Cullen not outside). Are the two extra wolves Collin and Brady?

Check out all the shots here. [Read more…]

Chris Weitz to be Honored at CHCI Awards For His Work On A Better Life

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) will honor CHCI alumnus Orson Aguilar, executive director at the Greenlining Institute, and Hollywood writer/director Chris Weitz at its Closing Luncheon on education during the 2011 CHCI Public Policy Conference on September 13 at the Washington Convention Center.

Aguilar will be presented with the 2011 Distinguished Alumnus Medallion of Excellence Award, and Weitz will be honored with CHCI’s 2011 Excellence in Service Award.

Orson Aguilar is part of the new wave of civil rights and community leaders focused on ensuring that the American dream remains accessible to all Americans. In his role as executive director of The Greenlining Institute, Aguilar advocates for communities of color on issues such as the environment, community reinvestment, philanthropy and leadership development. Aguilar works to make positive social change and continues to be a role model for future CHCI Alumni.

In honor of his excellence in filmmaking, his work to give voice to the Latino American dream and his efforts to create positive change through the arts, writer/director Chris Weitz will receive CHCI’s Excellence in Service Award. Chris Weitz most recently directed “A Better Life,” a multi-generational immigrant story about a father’s love and everything a parent will sacrifice to build a better life for his child, which Summit Entertainment released on June 24, 2011.

“We look forward to honoring two extremely deserving individuals in Orson Aguilar and Chris Weitz on September 13,” said Esther Aguilera, CHCI President & CEO. “Orson represents the next generation of American leadership and we are proud of what he has accomplished since his CHCI Fellowship in 1996-1997. Chris Weitz’s distinguished career in Hollywood is bested only by his commitment to shedding light on the immigrant story and creating awareness of the American dream story so many in our community live every day.”

After the closing luncheon, attendees are invited to take part in a special screening of “A Better Life” and take part in a question and answer discussion with Chris Weitz.

After the awards presentations, Reps. Raul Grijalva and Nydia M. Velazquez will host a high-level discussion on education. This session will engage experts in a dialogue on how to increase Latino education attainment, which is imperative to reach the national goal of 60 percent higher education attainment by 2025. The session will also feature Allan Golston, president of U.S. Programs at The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Kristen Stewart Talks Breaking Dawn Details to Tele5

The German Outlet Tele5 snagged an interview with Kristen Stewart about Breaking Dawn and her upcoming Snow White and the Huntsman.

TELE 5: How will the ‘Twilight movies’ effect pop culture movies?
Kristen Stewart: People will never forget Twilight. Movies that stick with you like that are rare. And we have inspired many new films. Hopefully I’m going to be able to be part of a few.

TELE5: Tell us a little bit of ‘Breaking Dawn’. There’s a wedding, honeymoon …
Kristen: It was great to play this unshakable love. Previously there have been moments where you had to wonder if the two will make it. This time around, they are incredibly close, like a family. Bella and Edward are not only lovers, but deeply connected. They’re married, it’s done. And it’s great to see how they cope with their problems. The crisis, if they are going to have their child or not. Bella has never been so vulnerable. And he has never been so angry. This time around everything is a little more serious and somber.

TELE5: Have you yourself changed over the years?
Kristen: For me it’s really big thing coming to an end. My career was very breathless. Now I can take a break and ask myself, “Where do I stand right now? How do I feel? Where do I want to go? ” I’m not used to that.

TELE5: What makes a hero in your eyes? Do you know one in real life?
Kristen: A hero wants more than just a narcissistic pursuit of happiness. Taylor, for example is such an incredibly passionate person. He has a stronger personality than most people I know. I’m sure in the right situation he would behave like a real hero.”

Peter Facinelli Manages to Sell Loosies at Toronto Film Festival

One of the hardest things for indie movie makers is getting someone to buy the film and agree to distribute it after it is made. One of the key places that they look for buyers are film festivals. The Host was sold at the famous Cannes Film Festival this past winter and Charlie Bewley’s upcoming film Like Crazy got into a wild bidding war at Sundance. Peter Facinelli experienced some of this luck at the Toronto Film festival as Variety reports:

“IFC is picking up U.S. rights to drama “Loosies,” starring Peter Facinelli (“Twilight”) and Jaimie Alexander (“Thor”), and plans a December release.

“Loosies,” shot last summer, centers on a successful pickpocket in New York City who roams the city disguised as a stockbroker — until confronted with a recent one-night stand who tells him she’s pregnant with his child. Facinelli penned the script five years ago as an homage to New York, with the ideas coming to him as he walked the streets.”
