The AV Club of Chicago also has a great interview with Jackson about his early performances and music influences.

Jackson Rathbone: My very first performance, I was in kindergarten. I was living in Norway at the time, in a place called Stavanger, going to ISS international school. My family lived there for like four years when I was a kid.

Anyway, I lip-synced and danced to The Big Bopper’s “Chantilly Lace” all by myself, and I brought the roof down. I don’t remember that much, really. I know I had slicked-back hair and I rolled up my sleeves like I had cigarettes in there. I always loved that kind of music, though, even when I was a tiny little kid.

The A.V. Club: Did your teacher or family encourage you to do this talent show?

JR: I was always the class clown. My mom always says that she got a call from every single principal, every single year, talking about what a problem child I was. I’d always act up in class and goof off to make other kids laugh. So, I think it was my teacher’s idea to make me perform.

I don’t know why I lip-synced. It was the late ’80s, though, so Milli Vanilli was all the rage. Now it would be Ashlee Simpson, I suppose.”

Judi Shekoni Supports UK Voter Registration Campaign

Judi Shekoni, who is a British citizen has joined Bite the Ballot, a campaign called that encourages young people to vote :

“British actress Judi Shekoni – who rose to fame in the role of Precious in UK soap Eastenders and will soon be seen as Zafrina, leader of the Amazon coven, in the upcoming conclusion to the Twilight films – has thrown her support behind a campaign in Britain aimed at encouraging young people to vote.

Judi wanted to get behind the Bite the Ballot Campaign to encourage young people to learn about politics, share their own voice and use their vote. Politics affects what we do every single day, so making your own choices and knowing what your options are is essential, even from the very first vote! This campaign was founded by fellow actor Michael Sani and breaks the barriers to let you know that politics can be simple, personal and fun. It also follows in the footsteps of the American campaign Rock the Vote which saw a huge increase in young people voting for the first time.”

See more at Look to the Stars.

We applaud Judi’s efforts.  We take no specific political stance on the Lexicon, but we support that idea that everyone who is eligible to vote should participate in the process in their respective countries.

Who Is Attending Comic Con 2011 From Twilight?

So far Summit hasn’t given out their official list yet. If we were betting people (and we are) we’d lay odds on Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, and Bill Condon. The trio and the director have pretty much been a pattern since the first Comic Con appearance. After that it depends on who has a free schedule, who is in town, etc.

We already know that two Twilight actors are going to be there promoting other projects:

Taylor Lautner will be there to promote Abduction. According to THR:

“The news you’ve all been waiting for: Taylor Lautner is going to Comic-Con.

Sure, we all suspected he was going to be part of the Twilight: Breaking Dawn panel but Lautner will also be on hand to promote his action thriller Abduction. He will be at the Lionsgate booth (#3729 for those of you trying to map out the San Diego Convention Center floor) for a signing Thursday, July 21.”

Kellan Lutz will be there to promote The Immortals (info from Immortals press release):

DATE: Saturday, July 23
1:00pm – 2:00pm: Comic-Con Panel in Hall H
2:30pm – 3:30pm: Official autograph signing at the Convention Center

GUESTS: Henry Cavill, Luke Evans, Kellan Lutz, Stephen Dorff, Freida Pinto, Mickey Rourke, and producers Mark Canton and Gianni Nunnari”

Rami Malek: USA Today and Instyle Face to Watch

USA Today has come up with a list of actors on teh rise and Rami Malek, who plays Benjamin, was lists:

“Rami Malek, 30

Starring in:Larry Crowne, the dramedy written and directed by Tom Hanks. Malek plays Steve, an obnoxious college classmate of Hanks, whom he knew from their 2010 HBO series The Pacific. Steve “gets by on doing the least amount of work he can possibly do. He’s a fun-loving guy who partakes in a little pot-smoking now and then,” Malek says.

Next up:The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2, which features Malek as bloodsucker Benjamin. “The idea of playing a vampire always seemed very cool to me,” Malek says. “I want to fly under the radar and do character parts, and this is one of them, but it also comes with the massive appeal of the Twilight movie.” He’s also shooting Paul Thomas Anderson’s top-secret drama, about which he reveals nothing. “They made me refrain from saying anything other than I am in the movie. I’m not getting in trouble on this one!”

And off-screen: The California native loves the great outdoors and has a green thumb. “I live surrounded by nature and I like to be out and do all that stuff. I go for road trips. I just like getting out and enjoying the beautiful weather.”

Instyle also has a similar story with an additional feature on new cast members.

E! Twilight or Harry Potter Character Match UP

E! has matched up Harry Potter and Twilight characters in the following pairings:

Harry and Edward
Hermione and Bella
Ron and Jacob
Ginny and Alice
Dumbledore and Carlisle
Voldermort and Victoria
Neville and Eric

Here’s the way they described the Ron and Jacob match up:

Best Bud: Team Jacob or Team Ron?

Jacob Black: Taylor Lautner’s buff shape-shifter is as loyal as any good dog werewolf. He doesn’t let his feelings for his dear friend Bella—or more importantly, her feelings for Edward—get in the way when it comes time to save her life.

Ron Weasley: While Rupert Grint’s wizard may at first seem like your typical sidekick, he’s no coward. He overcomes many of his fears while battling crazy creatures and Death Eaters alongside his best mate Harry. (Plus, he gets the girl!)

Kellan Lutz: Twilight Opened Doors

Kellan Lutz is doing press for his upcoming Immortals where he plays Poseidon. Coming Soon took part in a Q&A session with all the actors:

Q: Do you see this movie as a step up for you or a challenge to get out of “The Twilight Saga”?

Lutz:
I’m very blessed with “The Saga” because I am a character that, yeah, people ask why I don’t have as many lines as everyone else. Well, I can’t change the books so my character’s more of a presence. Even in “Eclipse,” I have more action and fighting scenes than I do dialogue. I can’t help that. I’m very fortunate and blessed that it still pushes my career up to the level where I’m not the face of the books, so I’m still, like floating, so the next thing I do, like the other independent movies I do and I’m very choosy with like “The Killing Game” is my own type of underground “Gladiator”/Jason Bourne type of movie. That’s what I want to do so being a part of these huge commercial movies like “Twilight” opens up doors so I can be the star of other movies and really show my acting chops, show and pick what I want to do as an actor kind of molded my career.”
