Stephenie Meyer and The Host Actors and Director Talk Putting It All Together

THR has an interview with Stephenie Meyer, Andrew Niccol, Saoirse Ronan, Diane Kruger, and Jake Abel,

THR: Stephenie is currently in the process of penning a sequel to The Host. Do you know where the story might go?

Abel: She’s a steel trap. We tried the whole time to get little bits of information out of her, and she’s locked up tight. I have no idea. And we wondered if maybe the things we created on set would influence her. She had mentioned that watching us bring it to life had given her ideas, and the things we’ve done with each character have given her ideas of where they go, and that’s really interesting, I think, for both of us to be influencing each other in this streamlined way. … There was one thing — we wanted to play guitar in the movie. We wanted Ian to play guitar. So we got a guitar and we had a piece written for me to learn, and we were ready to go, but then she was like, “Stop!” And she wouldn’t say, but I think, hopefully, music is a big part of the second book.

Niccol: I had a beautiful piece of music composed for [Jake] to play, but Stephenie says, “No, music plays a pivotal part in the next book, so can you not play?” Funny thing is, there is a chamber in the cave where you see a guitar leaning up against the wall. It’s foreshadowing for the next movie.

Meyer: Not having written it doesn’t mean you don’t know everything that’s going to happen. I have very detailed outlines, I do a lot of outlining, to the point where there’s dialogue in my outlines. The outline for this is about 50 pages long. It gets very in-depth. So I know exactly what’s going to happen. There’s a lot you can do with a science-fiction world. There’s a lot of exploration you can do, so there’s a lot of different directions.

New Character Posters for The Host

Two new character posters for The Host hit the internet yesterday.  The posters are for Wanderer and Jared.  The poster for Wanderer says Melanie, but the eyes are glowing in the way the aliens eyes glow.  The images are similar to the trio poster we saw a few days ago.  We also were told that there would be some behind the scenes footage from The Host coming out sometime later this week, so keep checking back for more information!

Details on Target and Walmart BD2 Versions and Info on Deleted Scenes

One again, the various bonus footage you will get with your DVD/Blu-Ray copy of Breaking Dawn Part 2 will vary depending upon where you buy it.  Here is the break down for the versions at Target and Walmart.

At Target, if you pre-order the film you will get a free 30″ x 40″ Breaking Dawn Part 2 movie poster which Target is valuing at $9.99.  The 2 disk Blu-Ray and 3 disk DVD will come with the 7 part behind the scenes feature, the director’s commentary, and a digital copy.  The Blu-Ray is priced at $22.99 and the DVD at $17.99.

Over at Walmart there is no gift with purchase, but the price is lower.  The Blu-Ray is going for $19.99 and the DVD for $14.96.  Both of these versions appear to be the same as what you will get at Target from the look of the box cover, including the digital copy.

However Walmart is going one step further and offering something Target doesn’t have.  You can order Breaking Dawn Parts 1 and 2 together which includes the extended edition.  There are no details on the site as to the bonus features on this combined set, but Hypable is reporting that the combo set does not come with the extra features.  We’re currently checking with Summit/Lionsgate for this info.  The DVD is priced $22.96 at and the Blu-Ray at $24.96.

Lastly, we’ve seen many of you asking about deleted scenes from Breaking Dawn Part 2 and the concern over having to buy the film again in 6 months just to get those deleted scenes.  We voiced your concerns to Summit/Lionsgate and were told that there wasn’t much footage from Part 2 that was cut – at least not enough to include a deleted scenes section on the DVD or a future extended edition.  It also appears from the footage of the 7 part behind-the-scenes documentary that we might see some deleted moments in there.  It might not be the answer you are looking for, but we wanted you to know that we have made sure Summit/Lionsgate has heard your concerns.

I don’t know when this all started, but I can’t stop laughing!  Leave us a comment on what your favorite mis-spoken moment was!

For me, it’s a toss up between, “I need your hairspray!” and “Well, we got ya’lls toothbrush so…” Or maybe “I do like a nice egg!”

When you’ve been in this fandom long enough, you relize that Stephenie Meyer doesn’t speak up too often! But when she does, her fans listen. Earlier this week Stephenie posted the following on her website:

Happy New Year, everyone, and I hope you had a fantastic holiday season! This is not a real update, I just like to spread the word when I come across a book that excites me. I read Days of Blood & Starlight by Laini Taylor last weekend (sequel to Daughter of Smoke & Bone) and I’m all fired up about it. Thank you, Ms. Taylor, for a thrilling couple of days. I am in your debt.

Twilight Wins for Best Fans at People’s Choice Awards

Even though Breaking Dawn Part 2 wasn’t released in time to be part of this years awards, Twilight was still able to make an appearance at the People’s Choice Awards in teh form of it’s fans by winning an award for the best fans.  But we already knew that, right?  I mean, come on!  This fandom has proven itself time and time again to be a powerful force to be reckoned with!  Even though The Hunger Games fandom has much to celebrate today with six major wins… it still didn’t win for the fans!  But I think that’s been the whole point to Twilight from day one.  The fans have driven this franchise and have never given up.  So I think we deserved that award for all that it’s worth!

Congratulations Twilight Fans!

VIDEO: New Scene from Breaking Dawn Part 1 Honeymoon

EW has a never before scene from Breaking Dawn Part 1, which will be part of the extended version on DVD/Blu Ray set to release in March.  The scene takes place after Bella and Edward make love for the second time.  It’s the morning after scene just before the crew comes to clean up the house.  We’ve seen the image previously, but this is the first time we’ve seen the footage.
