Visting Breaking Dawn Fan Camp Friday

I didn’t get down there to the Breaking Dawn fan camp until almost 5:00 because my hotel room wasn’t ready, but once I did I had a lot of fun checking out the set up. This year they are largely keeping the plaza free of tents so people can congregate there for activities like movie watching and morning exercise. They have a DJ set up under the jumbotron who does a bunch of events during the day. I left just before the air guitar contest started. They also have the plaza blacked off with screens, so it really feels like a private event. It also takes the heckling from passing Lakers fans down to a minimum.

At the top of the plaza is a thank you card that fans can sign for Stephenie Meyer. I put my own name in you can see it below. I was torn between writing what I did and the alternative of “My vampires sparkle, want to make something of it?”

The tents this year go down the adjacent street and to the tops of two nearby parking decks. It’s colder and winder than this time last year, so I saw a lot of folks scrambling for mittens and blankets. One perk for the group 6 guys who were the waitlist people who cleared in, their tents are next to an air shaft that was blowing hot air.

Lots of creativity was around as usual with decorated tents on themes, and all sorts of art up. This is probably the aspect I’ll miss the most in all of this, the fan cameradrie and creativity. It’s awesome, and if you’ve ever experienced the bonding at a Twilight event you know what I mean.

I’ll bee visiting the camp today for some musical performers coverage” Christina Perri, Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald, and a few others. Hey you never know when people drop by there may be more.

Carter Burwell on The Breaking Dawn Scores, Robert Pattinson Playing Piano, and more

Carter Burwell talks Breaking Dawn Score and bring it all together for the final movie.

Did you know where you would be taking “Breaking Dawn – Part 2” before you actually jumped into it?

I knew a fair amount about it. I read the scripts for Part 1 and Part 2 before they shot them, so I knew the general idea of where we were going. And one of the most important musical elements, which was the theme for Renesmee, I had to write before they even shot Part 1 and Part 2.

They shot both films together, and there was a scene where Rob Pattinson plays that piece of music on the piano for Renesmee, and then she plays it with him, and finally, she plays it by herself. So that had to be written before they even shot the scene. So yeah, we had a pretty good map of where we were going.

The Final Twi-Fight Bout and It’s Predictably Edward vs Bella

MTV’s TwiFight is in it’s final voting stage and it’s a Bella and Edward match up. They asked Laura to comment on the contest, here’s what she had to say:

People might think, “OK, Robert Pattinson is so popular this is an easy Edward win.” The only thing is that it’s not a Rob and Kristen battle, it’s an Edward and Bella battle, which means don’t count our heroine out! Fans experience “Breaking Dawn” and the entire “Twilight Saga” mostly through Bella’s eyes, and now that she’s a vampire she finally gets her happily ever after. On the other hand, Edward Cullen is the fantasy man of so many women, and he finally gives Bella some credit in “Breaking Dawn.” So these may be famous last words, but I have a feeling that Bella might edge Edward on this last battle.

So cast your final ballot here. Who is it going to be Edward or Bella?

Stephenie Meyer and Kristen Stewart Talk to the LA Times on being in the Eye of the Twilight Storm

In a really great, and rare, interview with the LA Times Kristen Stewart and Stephenie Meyer discuss Twilight, the media frenzy, and what’s next.

“I don’t know what makes people love it, I don’t know what makes people hate it,” said Meyer, seated comfortably in a suite of a Beverly Hills hotel. “But I do know that the feeling of being in love is a good feeling. We want to feel that emotion.”

“I’ve always said that,” Stewart said to Meyer, sitting beside her. “It’s so vicarious. It’s not like you are watching two people or reading two people. You feel like you are doing it. It’s rare.”
