Entertainment Weekly seems to have picked up where The Hollywood Reporter left off regarding the salary negotiations between Kellan, Ashley, and the studio. As EW tends to be a credible industry source, so, we are reporting on and linking to their coverage.
“Greene and Lutz don’t have huge roles. Greene portrays Alice Cullen, the future-seeing sister of Edward Cullen and Bella’s closest friend in the Cullen clan. Lutz plays older brother Emmett Cullen and his part, so far, has been minor. Yet sources tell EW.com that the duo are asking for $4 million a piece for each of the final two films. Greene and Lutz had initially banded together with fellow co-stars Nikki Reed and Jackson Rathbone to form a united front, but sources say Reed backed down and is now close to finalizing her deal, which is said to be in the $750,000-$1 million range per film — the amount Summit initially offered the four cast members. (Rathbone’s status remains unclear, and his reps had not returned a call for comment at press time. Reed’s manager declined to comment.)
The studio declined to comment on the negotiations. But sources tell EW.com that Greene and Lutz believe that because the supporting actors do as much publicity as the lead actors, and have to log almost as many hours on set, they should be paid accordingly. One source involved in the negotiations says that Greene and Lutz just want to get $1 million or more.”

We’ve been asked a couple of times where we stand on all of this. We have some personal thoughts, but we rather let people come to whatever conclusions they want to draw. At the end of the day, we have no insider info on what was in whose contract and what was understood. Our friend Larry411 summed it all up rather nicely when he said, “In many negotiations u have reps for each side leaking info to make the other side look bad in the eyes of the public. Happens all the time…It’s simple. It’s the job of the agent to get as much $$ for their client as they can. The actors often are millions of miles away emotionally and are not involved. It’s the job of the studio to pay as little as possible. They meet somewhere in the middle. But it’s usually behind closed doors & nobody ever knows what the agents asked for, what the studios offered, & what it ended up at…EVERY actor in EVERY film goes in asking for more than they end up getting. That’s the way it works.”

According to a report in the industry trade paper, The Hollywood Reporter (THR), Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene have not yet signed on for Breaking Dawn. THR goes on to state that other actors with similar sized roles such as Billy Burke and Peter Facinelli have already signed on.
“The studio is close to finalizing agreements with leads Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, all of whom will get big raises to return for a fifth installment of the vampire romance saga…But Summit is having a harder time locking in some of the franchise’s secondary characters. Deals for Peter Facinelli (who plays Carlisle Cullen) and Billy Burke (Bella’s father, Charlie Swan) are done, but we’re told the actors who play the Cullen kids (especially Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene) are trying to sink their teeth into bigger paydays that, at least at this point, the studio behind the billion-dollar franchise is unwilling to provide. “We may have a situation where one of them is thrown out on the street to make a point,” says a source close to the dealmaking.”
The Hollywood Reporter is generally accepted as a credible industry source, second only to Variety. So this is interesting information to take in. Check out the whole article, there’s a lot to absorb in there. What do you think?
Esquire Magazine has a bracket system for votes in their Sexiest Woman Alive feature. It reminds us of a March Madness system. Currently Ashley is ranked 12th and she is up against Jessica Alba ranked 4th. So in this scenario Ashely is the underdog.

The LA Times has a piece on the Cullen family’s role in Eclipse. More exciting they are featuring the elusive Liz Reaser who plays Esme!
“The whole family is in a vulnerable position because of the love we have for Bella,” said Elizabeth Reaser, who plays matriarch Esme Cullen. “If she’s not OK, we’re not OK…Esme is still a vampire. She still wants to kill people all day long. It was interesting to get in touch with the vampire side of her in ways that haven’t really been explored. Her family is in danger and that brings out the mama bear in her.”
Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Ashley Greene are all in the legendary People Magazine Most Beautiful issue. Doing something that most actresses wouldn’t ever do, Ashley Greene is featured with NO MAKEUP. She tells PEOPLE, “My favorite feature is probably my eyes. My mom is always saying that you smile with your eyes, and if you look at someone and you’re speaking, you’re really engaging. When I’m acting, they’re kind of a big part of what I do.”

HollywoodNews.com is running a story on the progress and journey Ashley Greene has been on in the last few years.
Ashley didn’t always have the acting bug. She wasn’t a five year old dancing around in makeup saying she wanted to be a “movie star.” The bug hit her when she was around 15. She convinced her parents to let her graduate early from her Jacksonville, FL high school and move to California. From there, she auditioned for parts as small as non-speaking roles before getting a call to audition for “Twilight.”
Ashely Greene along with Vanessa Hudgens and Portia Doubleday are on the cover of Nylon for May. There is a fabulous photo spread by Marvin Scott Jarrett and an article that covers Ashley’s rising career, the paparazzi, and the Twilight Saga:
“Ashley Greene, on Twilight Paparazzi
“I know their cars. Bit there’s always people sitting outside my house. I put my own security system in my apartment because you have to worry about people getting a little too obsessed.”
About Twilight
“It’s a bit insane for me, because Twilight is this huge teen phenomenon and the fans are passionate and want to know everything about us. So, you know, we get followed around.”
Before getting booked at Twilight
“There were a lot of little things along the way that happened just as my parents would say ‘Ok, its time to come home and go to college…So I built a resume that I could, you know, embellish a little.”
On young Hollywood
“We’re not all crazy! … I feel like that whole generation, that’s dying down now, thinks they’re higher than God and can do whatever they want”
On Breaking Dawn
“If they make one, let’s be honest, I’m gonna do it.”
