Billy Burke, Bronson Pelletier, and Booboo Stewart Supporting Food Drive

Saturday Night Foodies, a popular food and restaurant review blog, in conjunction with 19 gourmet food trucks and other leading food bloggers, will host a special food truck event Wednesday, Nov. 17, from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m., in the
Verizon Wireless Amphitheater parking lot (8808 Irvine Center Drive, Irvine, CA). The tailgating-type event is designed to add momentum to the ongoing two week mobile food drive taking place through Nov. 20, for Drive Out Hunger, the county’s first mobile food drive, benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank. The special Drive Out Hunger event will leverage OC DinDin-A-GoGo, a weekly gourmet food truck event managed by the Tropical Shave Ice Truck, that usually rotates eight different gourmet food trucks each week, but this time will have 19 trucks in its lineup. Attendees are encouraged to bring folding tables, chairs and blankets.

Celebrities helping to bring awareness to the hunger crisis in Orange County will be on hand to take pictures and sign autographs for a donation of 10 non-perishable canned or dry good items, per person. There will also be a silent auction, and participants will have the opportunity to bid on Lakers and Lady Gaga tickets, vacations, and autographed art, to name just a few. Event admission and parking are free.

Booboo Stewart Works With the MDA

If you are over 35 you probably remember that Labor Day Weekend, aside from being the last chance at a summer holiday barbecue, is famous for the airing of the Jerry Lewis Telethon to fight the disease known as Muscular Dystrophy.

Jerry Lewis, who is now 84, has been tirelessly working for this cause for decades, using his influence to get others in Hollwood to make appearances and donate their time to bring awareness to this cause. In many ways, Jerry Lewis along with Danny Thomas (supporter of St. Judes) were really the pioneers in getting celebrities to spearhead charity events on an ongoing basis.

Well Booboo Stewart is now also working with to support this cause. According to the MDA site,

“Booboo Stewart, 16-year-old actor, singer, dancer, model and martial artist, is now also an MDA Celebrity Ambassador. He is performing and speaking at MDA events, fundraisers and gatherings of MDA national sponsors — and also will be hosting a segment of the Telethon.

Stewart, who stars in the recently released movie The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, has taped a variety of MDA television public service announcements (PSAs) and special appeals to help raise public awareness of MDA’s battle against muscular dystrophy. He is currently appearing in a PSA campaign for newspapers, magazines and websites as a member of the MDA Muscle Team, which includes top-name athletes, entertainers and actors.”

Now in case you can’t watch, you can support in a couple of ways. They have an online auction of memorabilia or you can directly donate.

Yesterday, Booboo was down at Millions of Milkshakes supporting the cause.

Booboo Stewart and Tinsel Korey Punking Each Other

At the Parsippany, New Jersey stop of the Official Twilight Convention by Creation Entertainment, Booboo Stewart and his dad decided to pull a prank on Tinsel Korey.  Booboo and his dad constantly do things behind the scenes to trick the members of the wolfpack. It’s hilarious to watch them plotting because Booboo has this angelic, butter-won’t-melt-in-his-mouth innocent expressions and his dad (a stuntman, who is the size of an NFL linebacker) turns into this giddy, 13-year-old boy.

Anyway, the two of them get it into their heads that they are going to sneak into the back of Tinsel Korey’s Q & A session and then hit her with a prank question when it goes to questions being opened up to the floor. What they didn’t anticipate was the instead of staying on the stage, Tinsel decided to walk around the audience as she answered questions. So, she spotted them and turned the tables.

We got tipped off to what was going down about 10 seconds before Booboo snuck in. We had to record it all on Laura’s IPhone because there was no time to get a better camera.

So check it out. The audio is really clear. The video wobbles a bit because Laura was laughing really hard.

Booboo is winning us over in a really Mike Welch entertainer sort of way. You may just spot Laura wearing a Team Booboo shirt in the future.
