Kristen Stewart Chimes in on Breaking Dawn Script and Pregnancy Suit

MTVs Hollywood Crush caught up with Kristen while promoting Welcome to the Rileys.  She talks about enjoying the script and how it feels to come to the end of the saga.

In a related interview with Hollywood Life, Kristen talks about wearing the pregnancy belly for Breaking Dawn and the diet she is currently on to maintain her future vampire figure.

“I’ve worn it. It’s … crazy. I’ve done fittings,” she said. “It gets immense. It gets so massive at some point that it actually looks inhuman. Like it’s hurting her. There are striations of bruises.”

NBC PopcornBiz: Melissa Rosenberg Gets to Expand on Breaking Dawn

MelissaandvolOne of the things that we always look forward to in the Twilight movies is the fact that point-of-view is expanded. The books, other than for one section on Eclipse and one section on Breaking Dawn, are from Bella’s point-of-view. So unless Bella saw something with her own eyes, we only get to hear about it and not really see it.

One of the best scenes in Eclipse, in our opinion, is the battle with the newborns and the fact that we get to see it and not just hear about it.

Melissa Rosenberg talked about this opportunity in Breaking Dawn with NBC’s PopcornBiz:

“I did actually [get to do that], because we got to fill out the story because we’re doing the next two movies,” said Rosenberg. “So there was room to play and expand on some of the characters that Stephanie introduces. That was a lot of fun.”

“It’s a much more grownup movie – It’s an adult story,” the writer said of evolving the franchise beyond its high school origins. “The stakes are raised even higher because it’s not the story of teens. It’s the stories of grownups, so we’re talking about marriage and children and family – and these are pretty grownup things, but sexy.”

Jackson Rathbone Weighs in on 3-D Formatting

Jackson Rathbone has 3-D experience. The Last Airbender was converted into 3-D post-production earlier this year, and its effectiveness was widely debated. Many feel that post-production 3-D vs. filmed on 3-D cameras results in murky images. So, during the red carpet for the Scream Awards, Jackson was asked about his view of 3-D as it relates to Breaking Dawn.

“”I like the through line. I like the way it is, you know? I think 3-D is an amazing element for certain types of films but I think at the core what the Twilight series is about is about making choices and to be with the people you love,” explained Rathbone in our exclusive interview. “And I think that doesn’t really have a place in the 3-D world. The 3-D world’s more for that kind of action epic kind of quality, and that definitely is in the Twilight series, but I think it’s more so about the connections we make in life. And I think that doesn’t really…you don’t need 3-D to show that. You just need to look into…you know, when Rob and Kristen look at each other as Edward and Bella and that spark happens, you don’t need 3-D for that.”

Massive Breaking Dawn Casting Update

Summit LogoThis just in from Summit Entertainment:

Summit Entertainment announced today the following have been cast in THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN for roles in The Amazon Coven, The Egyptian Coven, The Irish Coven and The Romanian Coven as well as the American and European Nomads as outlined below.

THE AMAZON COVEN
· The Amazon Coven is comprised of Tracey Heggins as Senna and Judi Shekoni as Zafrina.

· Among the oldest vampires in the world, Senna and Zafrina are descendants of an ancient Amazonian tribe.  They have lived outside of civilization for centuries and therefore make no attempt to keep up a human facade. Though they drink human blood, the Amazons have long been allies of Carlisle.

THE EGYPTIAN COVEN
· The Egyptian Coven is comprised of:
o Omar Metwally (RENDITION, MUNICH) as Amun.
o Andrea Gabriel (Lost, House) as Kebi.
o Rami Malek (NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM) as Benjamin.
o Angela Sarafyan (LOVE HURTS, THE GOOD GUYS) as Tia.

· The Egyptian Coven consists of Amun, Kebi, Benjamin, and Tia, with Amun as the leader. It is stated that even though they are not a biological family, they could pass for one. Amun is extremely protective of his family and fearful of Aro.

THE IRISH COVEN
· The Irish Coven is comprised of Marlane Barnes (THE TREE OF LIFE) as Maggie, Lisa Howard as Siobhan and Patrick Brennan as Liam.

· The Irish Coven, a relatively young group, was founded by Siobhan and Liam, but Maggie’s talent made her an important element of it. They are not vegetarian but they are civilized.

THE ROMANIAN COVEN
· The Romanian Coven is comprised of Noel Fisher (THE PACIFIC, FINAL DESTINATION 2) as Vladimir and Guri Weinberg (MUNICH) as Stefan.

· The Romanian Coven is one of the oldest covens in the world and they were the ruling vampire family until they were unseated by the Volturi.  For that reason they harbor a centuries old resentment of the Italian coven.

THE AMERICAN NOMADS
· The American Nomads are comprised of:
o Lee Pace as Garrett (Pushing Daisies, THE GOOD SHEPHERD).
o Toni Trucks (MUSIC AND LYRICS) as Mary.
o Bill Tangradi (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) as Randall.
o Erik Odom as Peter.
o Valorie Curry (Veronica Mars) as Charlotte.

· Turned during the Revolutionary War, Garrett has chosen to live a nomadic existence, wandering the world on his own. Garrett has never lost the rebellious spirit of his human life, and loves a good fight, always rooting for the underdog. Though not a vegetarian, Garrett is among Carlisle’s closest and oldest friends.

· Mary and Randall are American nomadic vampires.

· Peter and Charlotte are nomadic vampires and mates.  They were created during the aftermath of the Southern Vampire Wars, in which Jasper was a key player.  They have remained friends with Jasper ever since.

THE EUROPEAN NOMADS
· The European Nomads are comprised of Joe Anderson (THE CRAZIES) as Alistair

· A nomadic vampire from England, Alistair has a misanthropic, brooding personality and a deep mistrust of all authority.  Although he counts Carlisle as his closest acquaintance, he doesn’t visit more than once a century.

Access Hollywood: Breaking Dawn I, 2nd Most Anticipated Film of 2011

breaking_dawncoverAccording to Access Hollywood:

#2 – “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part I”
Starring: Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner
Directed by: Bill Condon
Release date: November 18, 2011

Why we’re excited: Why aren’t we excited is the better question. What better way to kick off the beginning of the end of “The Twilight Saga” then with a little vampire-human wedding & honeymoon action! Plus, we all know what happens on the honeymoon, right???… Room service! No? Hmm. OK, how ‘bout this — “There will be sex scenes – multiple sex scenes,” screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg previously told Access Hollywood of the romance we’ll see between Edward and Bella. Hey now! Summit has yet to announce exactly where the “Breaking Dawn” storyline will be split, but Part I will begin to put the bow on this pop culture-transcending saga, which has turned vampires and werewolves from cheap Halloween decorations to every kid’s favorite supernatural bestie. Whether you’re Team Edward or Team Jacob or even Team Whatever Happened To That Nice Rachelle LeFevere, grab your lawn chairs and get in line – there’s only 14 months until opening night – knowing the “Twi-Hards,” the good seats are probably already taken!”

The number one anticipated film honor goes to Deathly Hallows part II. It’s hard to feel bad about losing the number one spot to the ten-year in the making conclusion of the Harry Potter movies. What’s also really noticeable is the release date. Breaking Dawn is without competition for that Thanksgiving box office spot just like it had for Twilight and New Moon. The other films on the list are all Christmas, July 4, or Memorial Day release where there are multiple blockbusters debuting.

This past summer, Eclipse got lucky when anticipated summer blockbusters like Robin Hood and The Last Airbender fizzled fast. Only Inception lived up to the hype and its budget. Other summer films are hoping to recoup budget in the DVD market-not something Eclipse has to worry about.

Are there any particular Jacob and Rosalie moments that you feel just have to be in the script?

Breaking Dawn Building Away in Louisiana

Collider, which provides some of the best Twilight and general film industry coverage out there, has an update on the progress in Louisiana.

“We first heard that The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn would film in Louisiana and Vancouver from our interview with producer Wyck Godfrey.  Today, one of the stars of franchise, Nikki Reed, told Hollywood Life she will start filming in “just over a week.”  We have confirmed through two sources that the production is currently building sets in the Raleigh Studios at the Celtic Media Centre in Baton Rouge, including Edward’s house.  We’ve been told the interior scenes will be shot in Louisiana, while the exteriors will presumably be shot in Vancouver.”

See more on Collider.

Given that based on the book, much of Breaking Dawn takes place indoors this planning stands to reason.  Major outdoor scenes are mostly limited to wolfpack patrol, the spotting of Renesmee, Bella’s first hunt, battle training, and the final confrontation.

Since we are talking indoor scenes at a controlled studio, there’s probably not much chance for fans to catch a glimpse of filming in Louisiana.
