100 Monkeys Announces Major US Tour

According to today’s press release New Castle Entertainment is formally partnering with 100 Monkeys, the band Jackson Rathbone is a part of, for a major US Tour. New Castle is no fly-by-night company, this is big time. They have upcoming films with Jodi Foster and Eric Roberts. In fact 100 Monkeys band member Ben Graupner is in the upcoming New Castle project Intent co-starring Eric Roberts and Seth Peterson.
100 Monkeys absolutely caught the eye of New Castle because of the multi-talented members, “The thing that makes the band so unique is that each member can play every instrument. In between songs, one of them yells ‘switcharoo’ and they all switch instruments. It’s amazing to see musicians that can play six or seven different instruments without missing a beat. There’s never a dull moment when they’re on stage,” said Tim Crockett of New Castle Entertainment.
According to New Castle, the band is in talks with Saturday Night Live to be the musical guests the week of November 20th when New Moon hits theaters. They will also have a CD signing at Barnes & Noble in New York City the same week. Their concert on September 12th will be at The Rickshaw Theatre at 8pm. It’s a historic Chinese theatre that was built in the 50’s and was recently updated and re-opened as a music venue. 100 Monkeys will be picking two lucky winners from the audience for a meet & greet with the band. We just heard the following from the 100 Monkey’s publicity team:
“We’re going to be picking two lucky fans from our September 12th Vancouver show for a private meet & greet with Jackson and the band.”
So if you are going to be in Vancouver that weekend buy your tickets for the show now before it sells out!
The show is at The Rickshaw Theater, and is a class above the local pubs the band played in last time they had a Vancouver gig (not that there’s anything wrong with a pub band location). The Rickshaw has a great stage and a relatively new sound system so it should be a great show.

Jackson Rathbone: Looking For a Change of Pace

Jackson Rathbone talked to MTV about how playing Jasper means he’s very controlled a lot of the time. His Last Airbender experience was very differnt.
“Jasper is so composed and kind of holding it all back, so getting to play a character where I can just run into people was great! I got to do this fight scene where I get attacked by three different people at the same time; I’m running through a battle trying to find my little sister, worried about where she is, and this guy charges me with a sword! So, I make the split decision to just tackle him, take him straight to the ground, and then someone else comes behind me and tries to slash me in the back – so I pull that guy over me, and he hits his own guy.”
Given all the fight training that the cast cast been doing in Vancouver, it looks like Jackson is going to get the chance to mix it up with the newborn army. With any luck he won’t be too bruised by the time he has to film his scenes in the upcoming indie flick, The Girlfriend. Check out the full story on MTV.

Jackson Rathbone Action Figure?

Well no one is running out to make a Jasper Hale action figure that we know of; however, don’t give up hope for an action figure based on Jackson.
It seems that The Last Airbender, the M. Night Shyamalan movie that Jackson filmed all summer that comes out at the same time as Eclipse, is all about action figures.

Call this innocent bystander fallout. The unfortunate result of the Rachelle and Summit situation is that castmates are now stuck in the middle being asked questions that puts them in a tough spot. No matter what their feelings are, it’s a no win situation, if they take a side it’s Catch 22.
Jackson Rathbone’s Celebrity Crush

Back before Twilight opened in theaters, back before Jackson Rathbone was a household name, and back before recent news events, Jackson Rathbone did an interview with Seventeen Magazine. Various people have now unearthed the months old interview because of question number 2:
“Who is your celebrity crush?
Bryce Dallas Howard. I think she’s an incredible actress and such a beautiful, young woman. I also think she’s way out of my league, so I’ll just keep dreaming.”
It would seem to us that that iconic “league thing” no longer applies. We’re wondering if Jackson is going to turn as red as Bryce’s hair when they meet. 🙂 We’re sure they’ll be good frineds and have a laugh over this. You can see the original Seventeen interview here.
