Julia Jones describes what it’s like being Leah Clearwater.
Julia Jones Meet The Amazing Race
Fans of the shoe The Amazing Race may remember a brother and sister team from a few years ago, Blake and Paige. At teh time Blake was a recent college grad and budding entrepenuer. Their time in the race made Blake more aware of third world poverty and how in many nations children had no shoes. So he started a company to get shoes to the kids who didn’t have them and now he’s asking celebrity friends to help with the cause.
“Toms Shoes, the company that donates one pair of shoes to needy children around the globe for every pair of shoes they sell, asked friends to go barefoot on the beach to raise awareness for the cause.
On Thursday, Toms founder Blake Mycoskie left his slip-ons at home to mark the third year of One Day Without Shoes and asked friends, including actresses Olivia Wilde (“House”) and Julia Jones (“The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”), to shed their heels at Axe restaurant and walk down Abbot Kinney to his sister Paige’s Aviator Nation boutique. The point is to drive home the message of what it would be like to spend a day barefoot as many people around the world do when they lack the means to purchase a pair.”

Julia Jones To Do Music Video
Julia Jones, who plays Leah Clearwater in the upcoming Eclipse movie, is going to be in a Chuck Wicks music video. According to The Boot:
“The two never met until last week and didn’t even know each other existed until a mutual friend put them together. “I talked to my publicist out in L.A and said, ‘I need somebody that’s just a great actress, that’s exotic and sexy,” Chuck tells The Boot. “And she [said], ‘I’ve got the perfect person … Julia Jones.’ And so, you know me, I googled her! And I said, ‘She’s perfect.’ And she said, ‘Yeah, I’ll do it.’ [Julia] heard the song and loved it. That’s what was mind-blowing to me is that she said she loved the song and that was cool.”
Julia didn’t know anything about Chuck before getting cast in the music video, so, naturally she took similar action to the singer. “I got this phone call and the first thing I thought of was, ‘Well, let me hear the song,'” the actress tells The Boot. “So I did two things — I listened to the song and then I googled Chuck. And I said, [giggling] ‘OK!'”
Shift the Power to the People: Twilight Artists Raise Awareness of Reservation in Need
Gil Birmingham, Chaske Spencer, Julia Jones, Boo Stewart, and Justin Chon all appear in this PSA that is trying to raise awareness of the devastating plight of those on the Lakota Sioux, South Dakota Reservation. Theirs is an interesting approach as you’ll see in the video. They don’t need your money; what they need is for you to pick up the phone and call your congressperson or write to them.
According to the Shift the Power to the People website:
“South Dakota’s Lakota Sioux- Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe 2010 Crisis
- February 1st, 2010 Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe has declared state of emergency after severe ice storm devastates reservation
- Storm topples more than 3000 power poles
- 13,000 people without power, heat and water”

Julia Jones: Boston Girl Hitting the Big Time
Boston native Julia Jones, who plays Leah Clearwater in the upcoming Eclipse, talked to her hometown paper, The Boston Globe, about the storm that is coming when Eclipse releases this June.
“Julia Jones plays Leah Clearwater, the only female werewolf in the pack, a mostly miserable young woman who is cursed with the power to read the mind of her ex-boyfriend — who has fallen in love with someone else. Jones explains that Meyer’s detailed portrait of Leah helped her fall in love with the angsty, supernatural character.
“Because Stephenie Meyer wrote the layers, you’re kind of serving something else,’’ says Jones, who had a small role on NBC’s “ER’’ and acted in a few indie films before landing the role in “Eclipse.’’ “Usually you’re looking for any clue you can in a script – usually it’s skeletal, because it’s not prose. But in this case, there’s 3,000 pages of detail.’’

Julia Jones in Lime Life: Final Interview
Lime Life is wrapping up their interview with Julia Jones who plays Leah Clearwater in Eclipse.
“For the final part of our series, Julia was gracious to answer one question for us about what it’s really like to work with her co-star Robert Pattinson…and she even opened up about working with Kristen Stewart. We were also so curious whether Robert Pattinson was like some other actors we have heard about about who don’t break characters, even when filming has stopped. Is he a hard-core method actor, only responding to people when they call him Edward?”
