Marc Malkin at E! got the scoop on how Kristen Stewart made it to the Scream Awards just barely and what her hectic schedule is like this week. She’s going to have some serious jet lag by the end of the week!
“Yes, Kristen Stewart was at Spike TV’s Scream Awards last night!
There was some confusion at the start of the evening because her name had been taken off the media tip sheet, but…
Turned out she just wasn’t able to make it to the arrivals in time. Why? Well, she’d been in Louisiana for about a day and a half rehearsing Breaking Dawn with Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, so she was jetted in by private plane and made it to the Scream soiree with mere minutes to spare.”
Eclipse was up for several awards at the Scream Awards sponsored by Spike TV. The show taped last night and it airs on Tuesday at Spike TV. We’re going to keep our post spoiler free, for those of you wanting to watch the show. If you want to know exactly what Eclipse won, head on over to Hit Fix where they have a full rundown and more photos like the one above featuring Kristen Stewart , Nikki Reed, and Jackson Rathbone.
HitFix has an article up on twenty or so actresses they think might score and Oscar nod this year. Kristen Stewart made the list for her performance in Welcome to the Rileys. They list the pros and cons of each actress they list.
“Pro: She gives a strong and sympathetic performance as a young hooker who agrees to try and turn her life around under the guidance of a visiting salesman (James Gandolfini). She also gave a pretty great turn as Joan Jett in “The Runaways” earlier this year and has an impressive resume that has built up goodwill with roles in “Into the Wild,” “The Yellow Handkerchief” and “Adventureland.”
Con: The problem is the movie’s distributor may not send out screeners (a big need for this one) and there’s that “Twilight Saga” elephant in the room. She might need that series to be over before she’s taken seriously again by the industry.”
There’s some really tough competition on the list with multiple Oscar winners and nominees like Amy Adams, Helena Bonham-Carter, Diane Weist and Sissy Spacek all noted as possible contenders. Our gut feeling is that Kristen has a real shot of making the nomination list, but actually winning may prove problematic given the probable nomination of Helena Bonham-Carter and the massive amount of Oscar buzz the movie The King’s Speech is getting.
Check out all the contenders on HitFix, it’s a pretty impressive list. Melissa Leo, Kristen’s co-star in Welcome to the Rileys, is also on it, but for a different movie.
Laura was able to see a pre-screening of Welcome to the Rileys last night. We can’t post a review yet because it’s under embargo (we’d love to talk about it because we have lots of good things to say, but that’s the way it goes), but to comment on the HitFix article we can state that we agree completely with the Hit Fix assessment of the pro’s.
Welcome to the Rileys was shot prior to Twilight’s release. It won major recognition at film festivals this year such as Sundance and Berlin. It open on October 29th. The first trailer is for all ages. FYI the language on this second one is graphic, but realistic to the character.
There is now green room footage from Kristen Stewart’s appearance on the Tonight Show.
You have to love Kristen enjoying the guest that was just after her.
Good thing Kristen loves New Orleans because she’s about to spend a lot of time in Louisiana!
Here’s another clip featuring Kristen. The film hits theaters in New York, Los Angeles, and Boston on Friday, October 29, 2010.
Kristen Stewart is scheduled to be on The Tonight Show this Friday to do PR for Welcome to the Rileys, her film with James Gandolfini that was the big buzz at Sundance and elsewhere this year.
Expect some of the talk to drift to Breaking Dawn. The last time Kristen did the Tonight Show can be seen in the videos below.
During the summer Portrait Magazine ran a poll about inner and outer beauty.
“In July we asked you to nominate the celebs you feel are the most beautiful, inside and out. We asked you to consider more than just outward appearance when casting your nominations, career choices, role model status, charity involvement and more was supposed to come into your decision. The fifty celebs we received the most nominations for competed in a poll that ran through August and September. Voting has now closed and your top twenty are below. Various members of the Portrait staff highlight the celebs selected and look at just why you chose them, including comments submitted by readers during the nominations phase.”
Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Nikki Reed all made the Portrait magazine Beauty: Inside and Out list. They come in at numbers six, seven, and nine respectively. In talking about why Kristen made the cut Portrait states:
“#7 Kristen Stewart
“It’s ridiculous that a certain look equals being conventionally pretty.”
Kristen Stewart’s role of Bella Swan in Twilight has us taking notice in this young actress, not only in her acting but her unconventional beauty as well. Her not so thought out looks are more for her comfort, which makes some guys swoon even more to know that she doesn’t worry too much about appearance but can also clean up quite nice for awards and films. The girls love her down to earth look and find it makes her more approachable. Fans don’t immediately go ‘Oh my god, it’s the girl that plays Bella’ instead it’s more ‘Hey isn’t that Kristen Stewart or Bella’. And her personality fits this; she’s sweet shy and has none of the predetermined star qualities other celebrities seem to get after awhile in the business.”

According to Folio Magazine:
“The American Society of Magazine Editors announced here today that the December 2009 issue of Harper’s Bazaar, which featured the lead actors from the Twilight movie franchise, was named 2010 Cover of the Year. The announcement was made by ASME president and People magazine managing editor Larry Hackett at the MPA’s American Magazine Conference.
The winning cover was chosen again this year by Amazon.com customers. The Harper’s Bazaar cover [pictured] beat out 11 other category winners for the top recognition (the issue won the “Best Vampire” category previously).”
The full list of winner and the runner’s ups can be seen here.
The cover previously competed and won in the vampire category against covers such as Robert Pattinson’s between legs infamous Details covershoot and his smoldering Vanity Fair cover shoot; Entertainment Weekly’s New Moon trio featuring Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, and Kristen Stewart; People Magazine’s New Moon Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart debut shot. The only non-Twilight related cover was one from Halloween Magazine.
