Kristen Stewart Apologizes For Poor Word Choice

People Magazine is reporting that Kristen Stewart has apologized for a poor choice of words in a recent interview in Elle UK where Kristen compared being hounded by the paparazzi to being raped. According to People, Kristen stated:
“I really made an enormous mistake – clearly and obviously,” Stewart, currently in Korea to promote the new installment of the Twilight series Eclipse, tells PEOPLE exclusively. “And I’m really sorry about my choice of words. I’ve made stupid remarks before, and I’ve always reasoned: ‘Whatever. They can think what they want,’ ” she says.
But in this instance, the Los Angeles-born actress feels compelled to address the situation. ” ‘Violated’ definitely would have been a better way of expressing the thought,” she notes.
In fact, the issue of violence against women is one that has been close to Stewart since playing a victim of rape in the 2004 film Speak. She has done public service announcements for the advocacy group RAINN and for SOC.
The irony of the situation in which Stewart now finds herself is not lost on the actress. “People thinking that I’m insensitive about this subject rips my guts out. I made a big mistake.”

Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner are in Australia to promote Eclipse. Why isn’t Robert Pattinson there? He’s filming Water For Elephants. The Sydney Morning Herald has a report of what Taylor and Kristen have been doing before their Q & A on Monday:
“The pair enjoyed a jet boat ride on Sydney Harbour on Sunday, before paying a visit to Featherdale Wildlife Park in the city’s west.
They saw koalas, baby crocodiles and wombats during the trip.
On Sunday evening they had dinner at Bondi Icebergs.
Both were driven around in a convoy of Cadillac Escalade SUVs amid tight security and heavy media interest.
Teen heart-throb and Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson is not with them, but fans will get a chance to meet their idols.
Stewart and Lautner are due to be grilled by fans in a Q&A session at Sydney’s Luna Park on Monday.
So-called Twi-hards lucky enough to score tickets to the event will be treated to a screening of the second Twilight movie New Moon after the Q&A.
But the Twilight love isn’t limited to Sydney.
Fans across the country will be able to watch a live feed of the Q&A broadcast to selected cinemas nationally, to be followed by a screening of New Moon.”

The Flaunt magazine interview with Kristen Stewart that we’ve posted about recently is now on line if you’d like to see all the images and read the story. It should be noted that the language of the interview is a bit rough in spaces. Kristen comments on paparazzi, twitter, and fame as well as her work.
“I really love what I do. It’s just a different life,” she concludes, pressing fingers deeper into the tendons above her shoulder blade. “I get defensive and that has probably perpetuated people’s idea of me never smiling. I kind of shake my leg too, so people think I’m always uncomfortable. I understand why people say I’m such a negative Nancy. I can’t pretend. I’ve always been involved, very personal. I like to write too. Acting and living and writing: it’s all one and the same. It’s just consideration for other people and yourself.”

On June 6, the MTV movie awards will be handed out. According to E! Online, the Twilight trio of Robert Pattenson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner will be on hand to present a never before seen clip from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.
