Cinema Bizarre: Twilight & Ashley Greene Fans

Paramore Makes MTV Award Plea

According to MTV:

“We’ve already broken news about the release date of their new album and critiqued their basketball skills. And now that Paramore are officially MTV Movie Award nominees — their “Twilight” song “Decode” is up for Best Song From a Movie — we decided it was time to get their take on the big show too.

It’s no secret that the band — or, more specifically, frontwoman Hayley Williams — is an avowed “Twilight” nut. Since “Twilight” landed a whopping seven Movie Award noms, we figured it would be interesting to have them handicap the film’s chances in one of those categories: Best Kiss.”

MTV Movie Awards: Twilight Leads The List

The finalists for the MTV Movie Awards  were just announced. According to MTV,

“Twilight” took the lead with seven nominations, including nods for Best Movie, Best Female Performance (Kristen Stewart) and Breakthrough Performance Male (Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner). “Slumdog Millionaire” garnered six nominations, including Best Movie, Breakthrough Performance Female (Freida Pinto) and Breakthrough Performance Male (Dev Patel).”

Twilight was originally up for consideration in the following categories:

Best Movie: Twilight
Best Female Performance: Kristen Stewart
Best Male Performance: Robert Pattinson
Breakthrough Female Performance: Kristen Stewart (Dakota Fanning is also nominated for Push)
Breakthrough Male Performance: Both Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are nominated
Best Villain: Cam Gigandent
Best Kiss: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart
Best Fight: Robert Pattinson and Cam Gigandet

The total, final-cut nominations for Twilight in a tough year are:

Twilight: Best Movie
Rob Pattinson: Breakthrough Male Performance
Taylor Lautner: Breakthrough Male Performance
Kristen Stewart: Best Female Performance
Best Kiss: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart
Best Fight: Robert Pattinson and Cam Gigandet
Best Song: Decode by Paramore

Unfortunately Cam Gigandet didn’t make the cut to compete in the Best Villain category. It’s a tough year for that category where Heath Ledger’s Academy Award Winning performance as the Joker is all but a done deal. There’s also the interesting possibility that Rob and Taylor being nominated in the same category may result in a split vote in which case another nominee could glide in.

Taylor Lautner Makes Abs Cut

Access Hollywood has voted Taylor’s 8-pack among the best abs in Hollywood.

While we are on the subject of Taylor, Robert Rodriguez, who directed Taylor back in day when he was Sharkboy, told MTV that Taylor’s success is no surprise to him. He knew back then that Taylor was “the complete package”.

MTV: Emily Browning and Twilight Spoof

MTV has an interview with Emily Browning, who was once suggested as a possibility for the role of Bella. Like Henry Cavil, Emily talks about the part that never was.

“It’s really strange,” the actress laughed when we caught up with her Tuesday. “It’s bizarre…What actually happened is that I was asked to audition — not take the part, but to just audition — shortly after ‘The Uninvited’ had finished filming,” the actress said. “And I’m not the type of person who can just work back-to-back. So I was just exhausted, and I was like, ‘I’m sorry, but I just can’t sign on to a trilogy right now.”

MTV also has up a great Twilight parody featuring cheeseburgers. It’s the brainchild of LA’s UCB Theater.

Henry Cavil: The Part That Got Away

MTV caught up with Henry Cavil and talks to him about how he was once what Stephenie and others invisioned as Edward.

MTV Needs Movie Awards Insider

MTV is searching for someone to be their next Movie Awards Insider, and clearly Twilight is going to be majorly represented at those awards with nominations if not wins in various categories.

Here’s the low-down according to co-sponsors Coca Cola and MTV:

“Coca-Cola and MTV have just launched the search to find one super fan to be whisked away to L.A to begin an assignment of a lifetime, and rub shoulders with celebrities, as the “Movie Awards Insider” at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards.

–          Exclusive interviews with show nominees, presenters, and MTV talent
–          Backstage happenings during artist performance rehearsals
–          Interviews with A-List celebrities at the After-party

Drew Barrymore on Eclipse

Drew Barrymore talked to MTV about how Eclipse was the job that got away.

“Oh, I wish that I was! I adore that project and I adore the team that’s making it. And I am very honored to now be a director and going up for other movies and being offered other movies as a director. I’m now an actor/producer/director! How lucky am I!”

MTV Movie Awards: Twilight Fans Take Control!

The nominations for the MTV movie awards are just starting. This year, there’s something different, and no we don’t mean that they had the very good sense to not to have Russel Brand host again. Mercifully, Andy Samberg of SNL fame will be doing that.

According to MTV the awards, for the first time in history, are now in your hands:

It’s time for some serious pop-culture studying because MTV is putting you — and your love of the year’s best movies — to work. For the first time in the 18-year history of the MTV Movie Awards, we’re opening up the nomination process to fans.

Here’s how it’ll happen: Starting Monday (April 13), head over to the official Movie Awards site to select the nominees in categories like Best Movie, Best Fight and Best Kiss. It’s ONLY GOOD TILL APRIL 20th, SO GET OVER THERE AND START NOMINATING!!!!!!

Robert Pattison:So Much Coverage, So Little Time

MTV just about turned over their entire website to Rob yesterday.

First they had the outtakes of his sizzling photoshoot with Dosier.

Then they had an accent expert analyzing his Spanish accent in Little Ashes. The expert seemed to think it was pretty legit. Only the real Castellanos can tell us if he actually nailed the right dialect.

According to their expert, “There is one thing he did that really struck me, and it is something he does as an Englishman well, I say, for example, ‘I am going “ta” the store.’ Like Americans, we don’t say ‘to,’ we say ‘ta.’ And in one little clip, he says [‘I need to go further’] without the ‘ta.’ People who learn English as a second language learn it properly, and a little word like ‘to’ is a hard thing for them not to say properly. So [someone like Salvador Dalí] would say, ‘I am going “to” the store.’ It’s a hard thing for them to break.”

Now if a throwdown is what you are up for, there is the never ending Edward vs. Buffy (et. al.) debate.
