New Moon One Sheet Is Here

Let the drooling begin.  So what do you think?

Volterra Fountain Under Construction

Seemingly Montepulciano and Volterra are among the few towns in Italy without a fountain in the town square. No fear, the book and script call for a fountain, and a fountain is currently being built!

TY to Twilighters 2.0 Italia for the heads up.

New Moon Clips to Debut on MTV

According to Mark Malken over at E!, New Moon clips will debut at the MTV movie awards. If you remember, last year’s awards was where the ballet studio clip first debuted.  Also, like last year, Robert Pattinson. Taylor Lautner, and Kristen Stewart will be there to present the clip.

The differences this year:

  1. Russel Brand won’t be there to interrupt the cast as they speak
  2. Kristen, Rob, and Taylor are all up for MTV awards
  3. Hopefully the backlot won’t catch fire causing multiple security and logistics changes

Speaking of those awards, get voting on MTV! Twilight is a little lacking in the tallies!

Most people think Comic Con was the first time the cast got a taste of the fan interest, the reality was it started on the MTV Movie Awards in 2008. Check out this video from a year ago, before Rob and Kristen fully realized just how passionate the fans were.

New Moon Trailer Viewing

The rumor that the New Moon trailer will make its debut attached to the Summit produced, Vanessa Hudgens flick, Bandslam is still  making its rounds. When we checked it out, Summit basically said there are no guarantees on that. It’s still way to early to say that for sure.

However it brings up an interesting question. In this article on OnTheFlix, they talk about how a movie like Bandslam could be helped in its ratings by people going to see the movie simply because they want to see the trailer on the big screen.

“They have targeted “Bandslam” because it’s audience will most likely be the same demographics that “New Moon” will have for the most part. Also Summit Entertainment is the movie studio for the “Twilight Saga” films and “Bandslam” so there’s another correlation for you. Basically Summit Entertainment wants to help promote it’s less high profile movie with it’s more high profile movie with the correct demographics so they can in turn make more money on both fronts.”

Now we definitely agree that it makes sense for a movie like Bandslam to have the trailer on it. If you are going for a young teen demographic as a part of your marketing, it’s pretty much a no-brainer. So, it certainly doesn’t hurt Bandslam or New Moon in any way.

On the other hand, do people (in particular women) go to movies these days just to see the trailer of an upcoming film, or do you wait to see it online? Do they do it if it’s a movie they have no desire to see otherwise? Last year at this time the rumors were circulating that the Twilight trailer would be shown in from of Speed Racer (the reality was it was pot luck, some places it was attached some places it wasn’t but you didn’t know that before buying your ticket), and if Speed Racer’s sales totals are any indication it doesn’t look like Twilight gave it any kind of boost.

So here’s the question:

Would you go to see Bandslam just to get a possible glimpse of New Moon?

Deadbolt features Quileute Legends

The Deadbolt discusses Native American lore and Quileute legends and how they play an important role in the Twilight saga – both in the books and the films.  Read the full story here.

“What’s different about how the legend and lore play out in New Moon with regard to the actual transformation, as compared to other werewolf based stories and films, is that it goes well beyond the visual transformation to a intriguing human level of emotion.”

Equipment Arrives in Montepulciano

This just in from Twilighters Italia.

“Today there were in Montepulciano some trucks unloading benches and fake gothic statues in the main square, piazza grande. Then all the stuff was carried in the municipality hall.

It is said that the crew took also a red flag and some spears from a near building (since in Montepulciano most of the buildings have colorful flags hanged on the doors).”

Edi Gathegi, Kellan Lutz, & Peter Facinelli on ABC

Edi, Peter, and Kellan each give their perspectives on transitioning to New Moon. Peter covers fan reaction, Edi talks about the battle werewolf vs. vampire, Kellan describes “rocking out” back with his film family.

“Nothing on New Moon has been crazy. For the actors it has been easy. We got to try new things with our characters which was great. I have to say that I like the New Moon screenplay better than Twilight. And it was really cool to see how Rob was incorporated into the screenplay,” said Kellan.

Charley Bewley Interview

Charley Bewley, who will be playing Demetri in New Moon, talked with twilightblog.net about his upcoming role.

TwilightBlog.net:
Have you read
New Moon? If so, what do you think about it?

Charlie Bewley: Yes. But being totally distractible, I’m a useless reader. However this one I just sailed thru, especially from page 453 onwards…

What’s great about New Moon is the author’s style delicately protracts the plot to reveal all the stakes for each character involved. This gives impact at major turns of events and also allows actors a much easier job of playing the characters truthfully and to the readers expectations.

Full credit to Stephenie for her intrinsic knowledge of human emotional interplay. Fairly genius on her part.”

Montepulciano Preview

Blogger Maggie is back with her report on Montepulciano. She’s describes the city, scouts some possible locations, and has fabulous pictures.

“I made my father pull over at one point so I could get a picture from the road as we approached the city, as I’m sure it’ll be an establishing shot in New Moon. The city sits on top of a hill and while it’s gorgeous in hues of orange, red and brown amongst the greenery, it is rather ominous and forbidding. That’s the point of these hill-fort towns though, to protect them against invaders and be forbidding; that’s precisely what Montepulciano does. It certainly ‘sets the scene.”
