LA Times Has New New Moon Movie Photo

The LA Times describes behind the scenes shooting New Moon:

“Robert Pattinson is having an Obi-Wan Kenobi moment. Inside a soundstage where “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” is shooting, the lanky English heartthrob stands in front of a tall, wide green screen murmuring a tender admonition, “You promised me nothing reckless.” Motion capture cameras hurtle toward him across a length of track affixed to the stage floor, while a team of technicians studies his stance and the tilt of his head.

Behind the Scenes on New Moon

The Florida Sun Sentinel has an article on what it was like behind the scenes on New Moon.

Chris Weitz explained how he made the actors comfortable with his style and the script. “I promised the actors that no matter what, we would have time to discuss every single line,” Weitz explains. “There was a line that he felt was repetitive, and Rob wasn’t feeling where he was in the scene. We worked it out and came up with some alternate dialogue. I can work on the fly a bit because I’m a writer-director, which is helpful. I don’t feel stuck or panicky when an actor is not down with a particular piece of dialogue.”

The Porsche Scene

Video that a fan taped from her apartment window overlooking the Porsche scene has surfaced.

The scene is where Alice tells Bella to run to save Edward. We are linking rather than embedding because it is very spoilerish if you are trying to stay spoiler free.

Exclusive New Moon Peak

OK, we have to hand it to the marketing guys on this one because there has been no promise of this also being available online. Summit is going to give a sneak to New Moon (not just the previously seen New Moon trailer) in front of Bandslam.

From what we can tell based on contact with the Spanish language site Crepusculo Meyer, the same seems true in various Spanish speaking venues.

According to Summit: “Mark your calendars for August 14 for an exclusive trailer of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON, which can only be viewed in theatres in front of BANDSLAM!

The exclusive trailer will run in front of all showings of BANDSLAM during its opening weekend.

BANDSLAM, a music-driven comedy starring Vanessa Hudgens, Aly Michalka and Gaelen Connell, opens nationwide on August 14.”

New Moon To Debut In Knoxville For Charity

We are awaiting word from Summit on the following item that appeared in the Knoxville, Tennessee papers today. We have no further details at this time. TY to Lexiconer Anastasia who sent this in.

“The dawn of a new “Twilight” will bring star power to Knoxville this November when “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” the sequel to the 2008 breakout film “Twilight,” is premiered at Regal Cinemas’ Pinnacle 18 at Turkey Creek in advance of its scheduled Nov. 20 release.

Although confirmation of the Knoxville premiere of the movie is set, several key details are yet to be determined, including ticket prices, just which star or stars of the movie will come to town, and even the date of the event.”

Electric Spoofaloo/G-Force New Moon Trailer Spoof

The  Electric Spoofaloo website just picked the New Moon trailer as its latest spoof.  They have previous episodes where they parody film school ideas gone bad, The Watchman and  Harry Potter. We could describe it, but some things just speak for themselves. However, for the sake of your computer monitors, don’t be drinking anything as you watch this. If it is slow loading, you can also get it here.

Summit to Launch New Moon MySpace

Summit Entertainment will shortly be launching a MySpace page for New Moon.

Among the features will be the ability for viewers to switch between the Twilight and New Moon movies by easily clicking on a tab rather than jockeying URLs.  Initial content will include the trailer, with other items added as the movie draws closer. Their current MySpace page is here, no word yet if this will be the URL, or if it will change.

New Moon Behind the Scenes

The Kyle and Jackie O Show had New Moon outtakes. TY to multiple people.

Mike Welch Owes Taylor Lautner & Kristen Stewart

According to Mike Welch, he owes it entirely to Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner that he has added screen time in New Moon.

“Kristen [Stewart] and Taylor [Lautner] had to lobby to get this one scene in the film that wasn’t originally in — and I am forever indebted to them for that,” revealed Mike Welch, citing a beloved moment from Stephenie Meyer’s “New Moon” novel. “There’s a scene that’s in the book, the three-way date between Jacob and Bella and Mike, where Mike ends up getting sick, and it’s just very awkward.”

About.Com: Mike Welch, Peter Facinelli, Kellan Lutz

About.com was on the red carpet at the MTV movie awards and got a bunch of New Moon stars to comment.

Mike Welch

Talk about the fans – how are you handling this? All you have to say is Twilight and they start screaming.

Michael Welch: “They are incredible. I live in LA, I grew up here, it’s not that crazy for me because it’s LA, you know? When I go outside of LA, no matter where it is, really anywhere I go, people will be stopping me or taking pictures or whatever it is. And it’s great. It’s amazing. I’m just lucky. I know it’s not me it’s that I’m lucky to be a part of this thing. No, I mean I do what I do. But it’s just great. I couldn’t be more grateful about it.”

Kellan Lutz

So how was Chris Weitz as a director?

Kellan Lutz: “Amazing. So chill. Being an actor in the second movie with all the weight off of your shoulders was really fun to look forward to. And then working with such a chill, mellow director – he was just so much fun to work with. So easygoing. And he had everything planned out so whenever we had a question as an actor, especially with our characters or the scene, he had answers right away.”

Peter Facinelli

How different is it going to be from Twilight?

Peter Facinelli: “You know, I think there’s a lot more action in there. It’s going to hopefully appear more epic, more studio-like, you know?”

More studio-like? How do you mean?

Peter Facinelli: “Well, the original… Twilight was more of an indie film so it kind of felt like, when you looked at it, it felt like a smaller budget. This one I think it will feel like there was more money on the screen. I think that more money will go towards the CGI stuff, which needs to be because there is a lot more CGI stuff in New Moon with the werewolves and stuff. And you know, whenever you have two directors that are different you can’t ask… Catherine [Hardwicke’s] an artist, you know? You know you can’t ask someone to paint the same picture. They’re going to paint their own picture and try to keep it in the realm of the story…”
