Twilight Stars Working Connections
There is an old adage that goes, “It’s who you know not what you know.” Now it may sound a little cynical, but those connections do help. Here are some of the cool ways Twilight actors are teaming up to work on other projects, and at the same time pulling in new talent.
It’s been confirmed by former American Idol contestant Paul McDonald that he and Nikki Reed are seeing each other. The two met at the Red Riding Hood premiere(check out the .49 mark of the above video). Nikki wasn’t the only Twilight actor to be a Paul fan. Peter Facinelli tweeted back on April 7th, “Calling all pfach Followers. Give Paul Macdonald your vote this week on American idol. I luv this guys music. Only a half hour left to vote.” Just last night Peter announced on Twitter, “Loosies signs @pmcdonaldAI10 to be on soundtrack.”
Then Peter talked to MTV and gave them the scoop:
“”I was telling Nikki [Reed, McDonald’s girlfriend and Facinelli’s ‘Twilight’ co-star] I was looking for music for my movie, and she said, ‘You should look through Paul’s stuff,’ ” Facinelli recalled. “She was a big fan of his, I heard, and I thought it really worked for my movie, so I played some tracks over it, where we had temp tracks, and it just all worked. So I reached out to Paul, I sent him the movie, and he enjoyed it a lot, and he said he wanted to be a part of it, which I was stoked.”
Facinelli added that McDonald’s original music is really inspirational and fit well with what he was doing on “Loosies.”
Now Peter and Nikki aren’t the only ones collaborating. Michael Sheen and Toni Trunks are teaming up too. Over the last couple of days, Toni Trucks (who plays Mary in Breaking Dawn) has been tweeting about Wales and that she was traveling there. Well Wales is the site (specifically Port Talbot) where Michael Sheen is producing a Passion Play for Easter in his home town, and Mary is in the cast of professional actors and local citizens.
According to South Wales.com:
“PORT Talbot church members are preparing to welcome people who are taking part in Michael Sheen‘s Passion play.
The doors of St Mary’s Church will be left open on Friday, April 22, and Saturday, April 23 during the open air play held over Easter weekend.
The Aberavon church will see five hours of continuous drama taking place in and just outside the churchyard on Saturday, and the church will be open from 10am to 6pm to give visitors a chance to go inside and receive free tea, coffee and bottled water.
In total the three-day play, which is being staged by National Theatre Wales, will be supported by 1,000 cast members from the community, as well as 14 local professional actors and Michael Sheen, who is the creative director.”

The Official Twilight Convention in Nashville Comes Off as a Success!
Last weekend the Official Twilight Convention came to Nashville, TN for the second time. The original line up for the weekend was totally pulled due to a change in filming for Breaking Dawn for the wolf pack as well as some last minute family obligations for Peter Facinelli. I’m sure this left the staff at Creation Entertainment scrambling for alternate guests. What they came up with was a lineup of rarely seen and brand new faces to the convention circuit.

Nikki Reed Given Kudos For Supporting Going Green
According to Mother Nature Network:
“Nikki Reed is on a one-woman recycling mission. “It’s very upsetting to me but apparently my building does not have recycling. They say that the city separates it but I don’t believe it and I don’t feel good about mixing all my trash. So I do it on my own. There’s a man who comes to my alley and collects cans and stuff so I give it to him,” she told us at the launch party for the fashion collection UK Style by French Connection. Reed was on a break from back-to-back shooting on the two “Breaking Dawn” movies that will close the “Twilight” saga. “We’re almost done, like four more weeks,” she said, not quite sure how she’ll react when it’s over, since in the past there was always another installment to look forward to.”

Twilight Cast Photo Up For Auction: The Cullen Clan
This is a cast photo that you don’t see every day. It also has six entirely legible (as legible sigs go) of the six actors in the photo: Kellan Lutz, Nikki Reed, Ashley Greene, Jackson Rathbone, Peter Facinelli, and Elizabeth Reaser. It’s particularly difficult to get Elizabeth Reaser’s signature on anything since she doesn’t do a lot of events, and to have this complete set in good quality is a real rarity! Plus it’s 100% legit!
The item is being auctioned as part of the fundraising efforts for The Girlfriend Movie. They are currently raising funds for distribution here http://www.indiegogo.com/Girlfriend-2
You can bid on the photo here on EBay.
Nikki Reed and Hanson Take the Walk
Back in November Nikki Reed professed her Hanson love on her website. She flew to see their show in Virginia just before Thanksgiving. Nikki wrote:
“My letter to Hanson was nothing more than a fan letter. I am not a musician, so I couldn’t relate on that level, all I could do was tell them how much I appreciated their music, and hope one day they would read it. I waited and I waited for a reply. In fact I even tried tracking the letter through my agency (we are at the same agency) to see if they had received it. After four months, I got a response! I was over the moon! Not only did they write back to me, I was also invited to a show! Due to my relatively hectic schedule, it was difficult trying to figure out where and how this would happen, but as the saying goes, where there’s a will there’s a way. I spent hours on a genius website called tourtracker.com, to find out where they were playing. Unfortunately, they are only moving further and further away from me. So the story ends with this. On Saturday I am flying all the way across the country to Virginia, to see Hanson play, and I can’t wait!”
Hanson also participates in Take the Walk, an organization that addresses the HIV and poverty in Africa and the lack of such basic items as shoes and water. Nikki joined them in a walk for Take the Walk. It had to be cold walking barefoot!
Any Hanson fans out there? Do you think they might work well on a Breaking Dawn soundtrack?
Nikki Reed on Indie Film Love
This summer Nikki Reed was interviewed at the Tribecca Film Festival. The footage was only just released. Believe it or not, all the Twilight Saga films are independent films, granted they make a ton of money but they are indie projects. Each one has had the ability to do things that Nikki talks about in the interview.
Nikki Reed Updates Blog and Lands New Movie
Nikki Reed was just cast in Downers Grove. Aside from her new movie, Nikki also just updated her website to declare her Hanson love:
“So here’s the story. About five months ago I was surfing the internet, and somehow came across the music video for Hanson’s new song, “Thinking ‘Bout Somethin’”. (Side note: doesn’t it feel wrong to write a title with so many abbreviations?) I was instantly blown away. I must have watched it ten times in a row. It wasn’t just their obvious talent (i.e. their voices/songwriting ability/skills with multiple instruments) that got me, it was the subtle details throughout the video incorporating their sense of humor that I feel makes them such unique artists. Their unwavering devotion to their positive lyrics is a testament to their confidence. It’s refreshing to see young, talented musicians showcasing their passion for their craft in such an openly positive way. Giving off the impression that they don’t need to be tortured souls to make good art is bold in a time in the world when so much is going wrong. ”
Nikki is seeing the band this weekend.
We know there are a lot of Hanson lovers out there. Do you think they’d be a good Breaking Dawn soundtrack band?
