Tinsel Korey, IKO, and Cider Sky to headline Stephenie Meyer Day Events

Those of you who have gone to Stephenie Meyer Day over the years, know that each year they add something new.  This year, Forever in Forks (the same people who brought you the amazing Breaking Dawn 2 party at least year’s premiere in Los Angeles) have some super guests lined up. Proceeds are going to charity.  We personally know the organizer, Sharon, and we can attest to the quality of the events that she has done in the past. They sent over the following press release

In addition to vampires, werewolves, and TWILIGHT fans from all over the world, Stephenie Meyer Day 2013 will now be hosting an acoustic concert at the Forever in Forks party, featuring TWILIGHT soundtrack artists Cider Sky and Iko, as well as actress Tinsel Korey, who plays Emily Young in the saga. The 2013 Forever in Forks party will take place during Stephenie Meyer Day weekend, which runs Sept. 12-15.

“The music in the TWILIGHT films played an enormous part in bringing the saga to life, and we’re thrilled to offer fans the opportunity to hear Cider Sky and Iko perform their hits live,” said Sharon Lottes, founder and event planner of Forever in Forks. “And Tinsel Korey is a talented musician in addition to her wonderful portrayal of Emily Young – so we’re proud to offer fans a further look at her musical endeavors.”

The Forever in Forks party is being held at The Elks Lodge on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 6 p.m. – midnight. The party will also feature a buffet dinner catered by Self Catering of Forks; an open bar; free photo booths; and a silent auction and raffle of signed TWILIGHT merchandise. While Forever in Forks can’t confirm the attendance of additional celebrity guests at this time, the Olympic Coven, a group of TWILIGHT lookalikes, will be on hand for photo opportunities and to interact with guests.

“As an event, Stephenie Meyer Day grows in size and scope every year, and we love to be able to offer fans new and unique experiences,” said Staci Chastain, organizer of Stephenie Meyer Day 2013. “A party like the one Forever in Forks is offering has never been done before at our event – and it’s even better that it’s all benefiting a great cause.”

All proceeds from the Forever in Forks party will benefit Stand Up 2 Cancer, a charitable program established by media, entertainment and philanthropic leaders who have been affected by cancer. For $200, fans gain access to all of the Forever in Forks events during Stephenie Meyer Day weekend, which includes a catered welcome breakfast at Tillicum Park and picnic at First Beach on Friday; viewings of BREAKING DAWN: PART I and II on Saturday morning; entrance to the Forever in Forks party on Saturday evening; and a catered farewell breakfast at Tillicum Park on Sunday. For $125, fans can purchase a ticket solely to the Forever in Forks party. Art Project Says “Thank You” to Stephenie Meyer

Power_Authors_Stephenie_MeyerThe folks hosting the annual Stephenie Meyer Day in Forks have organized a project to provide fans with a way to say “Thank You!” to their favorite author.  Here are the official details:

Stephenie Meyer Day is a celebration of all things Twilight and a way to say ‘thank you’ to Stephenie Meyer for her amazing contribution to literature!  Her stories introduced us to a world we never knew existed. Hidden away in the beautiful Olympic Peninsula is the small town of Forks, Washington, shrouded in an almost constant cover of clouds.  It is here that we will gather from September 12-15to celebrate our love of Twilight, the fandom we’ve grown to love, and the friends we’ve met along the way.

Stephenie Meyer Day and the Olympic Coven would like to ask you to join us in saying ‘thank you’ to the incomparable Stephenie Meyer. Write a letter, draw a picture, print out your pictures from Twilight events, etc. to show your appreciation.  Submissions must be on a standard sheet of paper (8 ½ by 11) and no more than three pages long.  If your submission is any longer or on any other size paper, we cannot guarantee it will be included.  Submissions must be received by August 31, 2013.  Please submit your “thanks” to:

Stephenie Meyer Day
PO Box 1268
Loganville, Georgia
30052

We will compile all the submissions into a scrapbook (or two) and add a little love from Forks over Stephenie Meyer Day Weekend. We will then send our books to Stephenie Meyer herself!  You do not have to be attending to participate; you just have to love Twilight! We look forward to seeing your submissions, Twihards, and thank you from all of us!

Additionally, a young Twilight fan named Abby Wilson, who recently traveled to Forks as a wish, is attempting to raise money for her lung cancer organization, Free to Breathe. Forks Prepping for Annual Stephenie Meyer Day

Each year Forks puts on a Stephenie Meyer themed celebration to coincide with the weekend closest to Bella’s September 13th birthday. This year they have their own website http://stepheniemeyerday.com/ Where they are rapidly filling in the details of the weekend.

The town of Forks has also made some rather necessary and practical changes to handle the influx of visitors. According to the Forks, Washington blog “The members of West End Business & Professional Association and Forks Chamber of Commerce have gone in together on two Sanicans placed downtown for the summer tourists. Merchants in the area of the stoplight had been complaining about Twilight visitors using their restrooms which are usually back in store rooms and not meant for public use. [Read more…]

Bella’s Birthday/Stephenie Meyer Celebration Kicks Off in Forks

All sorts of things are going on in Forks this weekend. The post office has even gotten into the act and created a special stamp! According to the Forks Forum (the local newspaper):

Stephenie Meyer Day in Forks

The annual Stephenie Meyer Day is fast approaching in Forks. Chris Cook, the editor of the Forks Forum wrote in to share some details.

“Dazzled by Twilight has opened their new store where Fern Gallery was, pretty amazing place for Forks. Scroll down at www.forksforum.com to see a photo of Annette and Rianalee inside the store. I’m working on a more complete story with one of the guys who built it.

The fans are still arriving in high numbers from all over the place. A “quiet” day today, only about 500 at the visitor center!”

Chris also wanted us to know about the town’s celbration plans which include tours of Forks HS and a concert by the Mitch Hanson Band and The Twilight Music Girls. Get all the Stephenie Meyer Day details here.

Also, if you are Forks bound, we highly recommend this booklet published by Chris detailing everything Twilight about Forks. It has all the details you want and at $9.89 it’s a steal!
