Chelsea Rendon, (pictured far left) who gives a fantastic performance as a girl who future is uncertain because of her gang connected family, wanted to work with Chris Weitz not only because of A Better Life but also because of New Moon.
“18-year-old actress Chelsea Rendon, who plays Luis’s tough-as-nails gang-related girlfriend, also drew on real-life relationships for her role. “I grew up in the East L.A. Montebello area, and I do have family that has been in gangs and has been in jail,” said the high school senior, who graduates on Thursday — a day before A Better Life debuts in limited release.
Still, Twilight fan Rendon was especially excited to land the role for a very specific other reason. “I first heard about [A Better Life] through the Twilight circle, because Chris had mentioned it in a New Moon interview,” she recalled. “I read it and my mom said, ‘Oh, you have an audition for this,’ and I was like, what!? I got all excited. And when I got to the auditions and first met him I was like, ‘Oh my God, I love you so much!’ Then I touched his hand and was like, ‘Oh my God, I technically touched Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner in some way or form!’”

Taylor Not Repping Bench and Cue Possible Legal Action

The other day we reported how Taylor Lautner was going to be the new face of Bench in the Philippines. Well it looks like that’s not going to happen despite it being put out on several reliable news sources that quoted information given by local entertainment reporter Ricky Lo (who has now backpedaled).
“Prior to Lo’s clarification, Joyce Ramirez Director for International Publicity of PR Asia Worldwide, the agency behind “Gossip Girl” star Ed Westwick’s endorsement for another local clothing brand, Penshoppe, and his much-talked-about Manila visit two weeks ago, also dispelled the alleged Lautner-Bench collaboration, telling abs-cbnNEWS.com in an interview, “It doesn’t exist.”
“There’s no authorization from the U.S. agency. It’s illegal to use the name of an international artist without endorsement contracts,” Ramirez added.
In a separate press statement, Ramirez—who is said to be in constant communication with US-based WME Entertainment, the agency that represents Lautner, reiterated, “His lawyers are now discussing all probable legal rights they have against the brand who used Mr. Lautner’s name for the free publicity.”

“Bench has followed in the footsteps of other local brands by hiring a Hollywood star to endorse its products.
According to The Philippine Star entertainment columnist Ricky Lo, Bench tapped American actor Taylor Lautner to become its newest endorser.
Lo’s source, however, did not say if Lautner, who rose to fame by playing Jacob Black in “The Twilight Saga”, would model its shirts, pants or underwear.”
It’s not unusual for American actors to do commercials in the Asian market, but not to do them in the USA. In the USA, a-list actors doing product promotion (other than voiceover work) has largely been frowned upon as taking a career step back. However in Asia it’s a whole other story. Some notable examples are Brad Pitt, Jodi Foster, and Christina Aguilera.

The MTV Movie Awards not only gave out golden popcorn but sported some of the hottest trailers for summer and fall movies. The Red Carpet was filled with Twilight stars! We even had the first look at the wedding invitation. Our very own Laura along with Kara from Twilighters’ Anonymous and Kallie from Twilight Series Theories where invited to take a look at the invitation and give their reaction!

Vampire and werewolf lovers everywhere can rejoice as MTV today announced that Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are confirmed to present viewers with the very first look at footage from “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” during the “2011 MTV Movie Awards.” This highly anticipated exclusive sneak peek marks the beginning of the end as fans worldwide prepare for the concluding chapters of Summit Entertainment’s global “Twilight Saga” phenomenon. In theaters November 18, 2011, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” is directed by Academy Award®-winner Bill Condon and is based on the pop culture literary juggernaut “Breaking Dawn” by Stephenie Meyer.
