Let’s Rock The MTV Movie Award Vote!

Two words folks—SPLIT VOTE!

Twilight is competing against itself in two categories: Best Kiss and Best Male Performance. We need to vote and vote daily or another category **coughTheBlackSwancough** could take away the Best Kiss. Seriously, was any other nominated kiss ( no matter how unique ) hotter than either Twilight kiss between Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner/Robert Pattinson?

An underdog **sputterThe SocialNetworksputter** or franchise film **wrackingdeepcoughHarryPotterwrackingdeepcough** could zap away Twilight’s chances! We were locked out on the final memorable line category for likely these reasons, so let’s make sure this doesn’t happen again!

Next words—The Pia Toscano and James Durbin effect!

Ok American Idol fans, you know what I’m talking about. There were two HUGE early exits on AI this year that were very likely caused because people assumed that their favorites were safe and didn’t vote. Let’s not assume that Twilight will take it all. We need to get in there especially for Xavier Samuel in Best Breakout Role, because he has no other shot at this!

VOTE PEOPLE AND VOTE DAILY! That MTV Golden Popcorn trophy is lonely, and needs friends in the trophy case. The Hurt Lock Oscar that it is sitting next to is nice, but it needs some friends that are its own style!

Taylor Lautner on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Taylor Lautner appeared on Jimmy Kimmel to promote his new film, Abduction. He speaks about Breaking Dawn and how sad the cast was to end the series in the second video.

Rob Lowe Remembers Being in Taylor Lautner’s Shoes

Taylor-and-Rob-LoweBack in the 1980’s ago if you wanted heartthrob it was all about what Hollywood writers dubbed “The Brat Pack”. They were the sexy, too cool bad boys we all wanted to save. Right at the head of that pack was Rob Lowe who was everyone’s favorite bad boy on and off screen. Not that I personally remember any of this, or used to be wrapped up in his relationship with Melissa Gilbert the way folks are with Robsten today, or even had Oxford Blues and St. Elmo’s Fire posters on my wall or anything…but I digress. Anyway, Rob Lowe just published his autobiography on how he survived this rapid rise to fame, how he crashed and burned, and then how he can back. While talking to the UK Telegraph, Rob relates how a chance encounter with Taylor Lautner brought some uncomfortable memories from his teens and 20’s back:

“Rob Lowe recently found himself at an American football game with Taylor Lautner, the 19-year-old star of the Twilight films.

Both actors are fans of the Indianapolis Colts and were invited by the Colts’ owner, Jim Irsay, to attend one of the play-offs.

Sitting together in an open box, with a group of people, they soon found themselves surrounded by a mob of teenage girls. ‘They were coming up to the box and literally staring at him,’ Lowe recalls. ‘Some were screaming. Others took his picture. Others were like this…’

Lowe gets up, walks over and plants his face a few inches from mine, his fists clenched, his eyes boring into me, like a Maori doing the Haka.

‘It was all I could bear to watch,’ he says, retaking his seat. ‘It actually made me really emotional, seeing him struggle with it. He’s such a lovely kid, he’s even younger than I was. It has nothing to do with you. Every generation there’s That Guy. And sometimes there’s three in a generation, or four, but somebody’s got to be That Guy. I was That Guy.’ “

Tyler Posey Was Once In The Running For Jacob Black.

Tyler Posey(see above in character make-up) is the star of MTV’s upcoming Teen Wolf series. The New York Times has a rather long feature on this project that is peppered with Twilight references ( a lot of them are the typical angst ridden, abstinence, morality tale comments that fans are used to seeing). Nonetheless, after this very long article which makes some conclusions about Twilight fans and werewolf loving cross-over series that may or may not be true, this gem pops up:

“The one interesting thing I know about Posey is that he was, at one point, close to landing the role of Jacob, the werewolf in the “Twilight” movies. He confirms this, then adds that he was only 16 when it happened, that he was more into hanging out with his friends than acting back then, that he’s not bitter about how it all went down. But when he actually explains how it all went down, another story comes out.

Posey is from Valencia, Calif.; for a long time, he thought he was the only actor in town. Then this kid, Taylor Lautner, moved to Valencia. Another actor. (“His name’s Taylor, my name’s Tyler,” Posey says.) Lautner started dating a girl in Posey’s neighborhood, a girl Posey was into. They started running into each other at auditions. And then one day, after Posey was told the “Twilight” job was his to lose, and then lost it, he ran into Lautner again, and Lautner told him he was just back from Oregon. Where he’d been shooting “Twilight.”

Come on, I say. It sounds as if he’s your nemesis. You have to hate that guy a little bit.

“Just a little bit,” Posey admits. “Yeah, of course.”

I say, that’s what this is all about, isn’t it? This is your revenge. You’re doing this show to make people forget Taylor Lautner ever existed.

“I’m the new werewolf in town, man,” Posey says. “Watch out.”

See more on The New York Times.

So what do you think, would Tyler Posey have been a good Jacob Black?

Taylor Lautner Films Movie Awards Clip

Last year both Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner filmed clips for the MTV Movie Awards with Tom Cruise, who was in heavy make-up doing his Les Grossman persona. (see video below). Well according to On Location Vacations, it looks like MTV has something up their sleeves again this year.

“A couple days ago we broke the news that Taylor Lautner was going to be filming in New York City for one day, but at the time we weren’t quite sure what the shoot was for.

Thanks to one of our readers, Ariella, we found out that Taylor was indeed in NYC today filming under the title “Movie Awards”. We can only assume the shoot was a sketch for the upcoming MTV Movie awards which will air on June 5th.

Ariella spotted Taylor filming in a cab outside of City Stage around W 19th and 9th in NYC. They definitely did a good job keeping the shoot under wraps since, according to Ariella, there were no fans around.”

Twilight Makes Best Movie Love Triangles List

The Female First site in the UK picked Twilight to top their list:

“Twilight: Not easy to choose between a bare chested wolfman and a glittering vampire – especially when they fight so well over you in a two man tent; while you are sleeping.

The Twilight Saga has taken the world by story as Stephenie Meyers’ novels have been adapted for the big screen – are you Team Edward? or Team Jacob?”

MTV Movie Awards 2011: The Final List

Twilight was heavily represented in the initial spread back in March. Here’s what made the final cut thanks to fan votes(some are popping up on different entertainment sites before the noon MTV total reveal)! Voting starts at noon today.
We will update this list as more nominations are revealed.

Vote here!

BEST KISS:(revealed at Teen Vogue)
Ellen Page and Joseph Gordon-Levitt – Inception
Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe – Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1
Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson – The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner – The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis – Black Swan

Biggest problem here is the Twilight is up against itself splitting the Team Jacob and Team Edward vote. On the other hand it’s hard to describe the Harry Potter lip lock as truly passionate. With the Black Swan, most people didn’t leave that show saying “hot kiss” so much as they did “that movie was messed up”. Inception, may have something there, but really the Twilight smooches in our opinion own the “hottness” AKA “I want to be Kristen Stewart in that scene” factor.

Best Fight(revealed at Just Jared…they also revealed Biggest Badass star but no Twilight nominations in that category)
Amy Adams vs The Sisters—The Fighter
Chloe Moretz vs. Mark Strong—Kickass
Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint vs. the Death Eaters—Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1
Joseph Gordon-Levitt vs  Hallway Attacker—Inception
Robert Pattinson vs. Bryce Dallas Howard and Xavier Samuel—The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

There are a lot of really cool epic battles happening in this category. If it were just down to creativity, Inception would win hands down. On the other hand, Harry Potter and Eclipse have something going for them that the other films don’t, and that’s  what we are going to call the sticking it to the villain factor. Specifically, a villain that fans have been wanting to see defeated over the course of several films.  This is going to be a tight one of the votes, but we are leaning Twilight simply because no matter how epic the Death Eater Duel was, because the villains lived. There’s a certain finality to lopping Xavier Samuel’s head off that Harry Potter, doesn’t have. However, like we said this is going to be a critical vote and vote often category. It’s going to be a tough race with the Harry Potter crowd!

Best Female Performance (revealed at EW)
Emma Stone (Easy A)
Emma Watson (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 1)
Jennifer Aniston (Just Go With It)
Kristen Stewart (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse)
Natalie Portman (Black Swan)

We’re going to call this a three-way race with every vote counting: Emma Watson, Kristen Stewart, Natalie Portman.

Best Male Performance (revealed at EW)
Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 1)
Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network)
Robert Pattinson (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse)
Taylor Lautner (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse)
Zac Efron (Charlie St. Cloud)

Once again we have a Twilight split vote and a Harry Potter nominee. However, we’re pretty sure Robert Pattinson is going to lock this one up once voting concludes. it’s not like any of the other stars have fans camped out in pouring rain storms to see their other movies.

Best Line from a Movie (revealed at EW)
Biggest stunner here was that “Doesn’t he own a shirt?’ didn’t make the final cut!

Best Breakout Performance
Andrew Garfield—The Social Network
Chloë Grace Moretz—Kick-Ass
Hailee Steinfeld—True Grit
Jay Chou—The Green Hornet
Olivia Wilde—TRON: Legacy
Xavier Samuel—The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

This a a three way race in our opinion among Xavier Samuel, Hailee Steinfeld who is Hollywood’s latest It Girl with big-time acting chops, and Andrew Garfield who has “the adorable nerd that everyone wants to cuddle”  thing going for him. Vote and vote often, this is far from a shoe-in!

Best Movie
Black Swan
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1
Inception
The Social Network
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Again the biggest challenge here is to hold off the rising swarm that is Harry Potter. it’s not impossible, Twilight has beaten Potter before, but it’s going to be tough!

Abduction Reshoots Happening in Pittsburgh

According to the ABC affiliate:

“The cast and crew of the upcoming action thriller “Abduction” will be back in Pittsburgh on Tuesday. Several scenes for the movie, which originally filmed in the Pittsburgh area last year, will be re-shot near PNC Park. The movie stars “Twilight” actor Taylor Lautner and Sigourney Weaver and is set to hit theaters in September.”

It is unknown which of the films’ stars will be involved in the reshoots.  During the summer, crowds were able to see several scenes being shot from behind  barriers. The movie that stars Taylor Lautner was shot in multiple locations around the Pittsburgh area. Taylor was a big hit with local fans whenever they encountered him.

Rumor Control: Will there REALLY be more Twilight books/movies????

We’ve watched the news feeds all day covering the topic of more Twilight centric books and movies centered around the relationship between Jacob and Renesmee.  It all started when MTV asked Taylor Lautner about the possibility of continuing on in the role of Jacob Black if Stephenie wrote more novels.  You can watch the interview below to see exactly how this rumor got started but here is how we can break it down for you.

YEARS ago, and we do mean YEARS ago, Stephenie told fans that Breaking Dawn was the end of Edward and Bella’s story.  She hinted that should she ever return to the Twilight universe the stories would center around Jacob and Renesmee as well as Leah because those stories aren’t finished.  I can’t stress enough that she said this YEARS ago.  This is not “new” news for fans that have been in the fandom pre-Twilight Movie.

Now jump ahead to the international fan junket that was held last month and was covered by the USA Today .  The fans at the junket asked Stephenie about Jacob and Renesmee and she said, and I quote,  “That is a question I’m reserving the right not to answer, because there is a chance I’ll go back to their story.”

Now, fast forward to Josh Horowitz saying, “Stephenie has recently hinted at perhaps maybe she would explore more of Jacob and Renesmee’s relationship at some point.”  To which Taylor Lautner responds, “Really? Breaking news to me live on MTV.”  To which the whole of the Twilight news reporting world took to mean MTV had a scoop that Stephenie is writing more books and they will feature Jacob and they will be made into movies starring Taylor Lautner.

Do we all want more Twilight stories – sure.  I’d love to read about Jacob and Renesmee.  But are they really going to happen – it’s a toss up.  Personally, I feel if we ever do get another Twilight related book it will be years and years from now after Stephenie has stepped away from the world of Forks and done a few others things.   By the time any type of Twilight related book is even possibly published, Taylor and every other current member of the cast would be too old to portray their teenage character.  It’s a great dream, but one that is a long shot.

So for now, just concentrate on the fact that we still have two more movies to go!  And hopefully, someday, in the distant future, we might have another Twilight related title to read should Stephenie feel it’s time to revisit that universe.
