Taylor Lautner at Toy Fair

taylor-lautner-toy-fairJust Jared and MTV caught up with Tayolr Lautner at the Hasbro toy fair. He appeared there in conjunction with his upcoming role as Stretch Armstrong which which started way back when as a Hasbro product.

According to Just Jared:

Taylor Lautner has some fun playing with the new Nerf Raider Blaster as he visits Hasbro’s showroom at the American International Toy Fair in NYC on Tuesday afternoon (February 16).

The 18-year-old actor just beat JJJ’s[Just Jared Junior, Jared’s son] record with the new Bop It Bounce! Until yesterday, JJJ held the record for most bounces with 71. Taylor upped us by 20 more!”

MTV talked to Hasbro executives and this is what they had to say about Taylor:

“”He is a real actor,” Hasbro CEO and “Stretch Armstrong” producer Brian Goldner told MTV News. “And it was so clear to us as we saw him in ‘Twilight.’ And we look for insights from every audience about where we should go with our brands, so when I saw my daughter and all of her friends go crazy for him, and then I saw the background that he was also this mixed martial arts expert in that ‘Saturday Night Live’ piece … that was the real deal.”

Taylor Lautner in Abduction: The Ink Isn’t Quite Dry Yet

Taylor_Lautner_leanDeadline Hollywood’s Nikki Finke has some news on Taylor Lautner’s latest projects (which at this rate you need a score card to keep up with!):

Last week Nikki broke the news about Abduction, she wrote:

“Lautner plays a teen who has long felt disconnected from his parents, and figures out why. That unleashes a chain of violent events and enters Bourne territory. Considering he just got on the Hollywood radar because of the Twilight Saga (imagine, he was almost recast before New Moon) and just days ago blew out the candles on his 18th birthday cake, Lautner with his 8-pack abs is the newest and youngest action star in a dizzying volume of movie deals made over recent weeks. He’s already the lead in two major studio superhero franchises — Universal’s Stretch Armstrong and Paramount’s Max Steel..”

Today Nikki has some more details on how it’s not quite a done deal yet:

“On the Lautner front, a deal for Shawn Christensen’s spec script should have been wrapped up by now, but it’s not. I’m told that’s because the Lautner camp has been steadfast on getting the $7.5 million quote established by Skydance for Northern Lights. Studios are understandably hesitant. It’s a lot of money for an 18-year old who hasn’t yet proven he can carry a film by himself, yet is on a salary trajectory rarely seen especially for someone so young. ..”

So what do you think? Despite his current age of just 18 does Taylor have what it takes to carry an action movie? In all likelihood he’ll be 19 or 20 by the time his multiple projects are filmed and then air.

Happy 18th Birthday Taylor Lautner!

A very Happy Birthday to Taylor who is the last of the original Twilight cast members to turn 18.

Look how Taylor has changed over the years!

Taylor Lautner Now a Jacob Tonner Doll

Tonner Dolls, the company that has Edward, Bella, Victoria, James, and Laurent dolls now has added a Jacob doll to the line. MTV’s Hollywood Crush got the exclusive look.

Which Tonner doll do you like best?  We’re kind of partial to the Victoria one.

Access Hollywood Interviews Taylor For Valentine’s Day

Gary Marshall On Taylor Lautner

The legendary Hollywood director talked about his experiences working with Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner.  Gary is famous for his Bronx accent, tongue-in-cheek humor, and being the starting point of many actors’ careers. Gary was publicly recognized at the Valentine’s Day premiere by Anne Hathaway for starting her career.

“What’s the first thing Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift had to do when they started shooting Valentine’s Day?

Lock lips!

“I always start with the kissing scenes,” director Garry Marshall told me at last night’s Hollywood premiere of the star-studded romantic comedy. “The first thing they did was kiss.”

So how did it go?

“The first three were nice,” Marshall said. “By the fourth I think they started going together. I don’t know what the hell happened, but somewhere in the fifth or sixth take they were dating.”

Check out details on a possible sequel and how Taylor’s acrobatics impressed Gary Marshall.

Taylor Lautner at the Valentine’s Day Premiere

Access Hollywood caught up with Taylor on the red carpet and asked him about turning 18 and Breaking Dawn:

“What do you have planned for you 18th birthday?” Shaun asked.

“Absolutely nothing really,” Taylor told Access. “I mean, I’ll spend time with family and friends… I don’t like to do anything huge, but it is 18, so, it’s kind of a big one I guess.”

Taylor said he wouldn’t be celebrating his big day with Taylor Swift.

“I believe she’s overseas touring. It’s a bummer she couldn’t make it [to the premiere], but I’m sure everyone will enjoy watching her,” Taylor told Access.

As for “Twilight” news, Taylor explained that he and the rest of the cast are eagerly waiting to find out the details on “Breaking Dawn,” just like all the fans.”

According to the Press Association, Taylor’s presence cause quite the stir:

“Taylor Lautner easily upstaged his A-list co-stars at the Hollywood premiere of new movie Valentine’s Day.

Screams from fans of the Twilight star were deafening on the red carpet, while celebrity castmates Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Biel and Ashton Kutcher and his wife Demi Moore were largely ignored by the crowd.”

Taylor Lautner’s Hometown Sends Valentines Wishes

File this under just too cute for words. Taylor Lautner’s hometown decided to send their local boy Valentine’s Day cards in honor of his Hollywood success and in honor of teh title of his current movie.

“In a matter of a couple of weeks, The Press received hundreds of pieces of mail: letters, poems, cards and gifts, all of them very sweet.

None were cuter than a batch of four cards we received from Grand Rapids’ Amaya sisters: Amber, 11; Shelby, 10; Quinn, 5; and Addison, 3.

“Of course, the younger ones are into whatever the older ones are into, so they all had to make cards,” said Mom, Cynthia Amaya.

At the Amaya house, the squeal factor hits its highest with sixth-grader Amber.

“(She) is obsessed with the ‘Twilight’ series and can’t wait for the next movie (‘Eclipse’) to come out in June,” Amaya said. “She’s already planning her birthday around the release of the movie. Christmas presents were all about ‘Twilight’ — shirts, bracelets, you name it.”

Artistically speaking, Amber’s card was made in the shape of a heart and featured “Be Mine” in little heart drawings. Younger sisters Quinn and Addison drew pictures of themselves with Lautner (although — shhhh, don’t tell anybody — Addison is more of an Edward fan).

Fifth-grader Shelby was a little more subdued, saying, “What’s up!” on her card, then proclaiming: “I Hope You Have the Best Valentine’s Day Ever!”

When Is a Vampire Not a Vampire

Everyone is entitled to a mistake, but this one left us laughing. We are wondering if the staff at the arts section of the New York Times somehow missed all the New Moon trailers where Taylor Lautner morphs into a giant CGI wolf on screen, or missed the whole Team Edward (vampire) vs. Team Jacob (werewolf) thing.

The article itself is just a summary of previously released information that Nikki Finke and Variety broke last week, but check out the title. Maybe they were remembering the above photo from an old Twilight PR shoot?
