Benefit Concert:Twilight Fan Trips

“Fan Trips.Travel are excited to announce the line-up for the Haiti Benefit Concert featuring MuteMath in New Orleans on Saturday, March 20, 2010!

The concert will take place at Mardi Gras World’s River City Ballroom as part of an after-party event in celebration of the celebrity baseball game. As with the celebrity baseball game, a portion of the proceeds from the concert benefit the worthy cause for relief to Haiti. The lineup was carefully chosen to appeal to all music fans and is as follows:

MuteMath is a Grammy Award nominated alternative rock band from New Orleans. Their most recent album, Armistice debuted at #18 on the Billboard 200, and also charted at # 4 on Billboard Rock charts and # 3 on the Billboard Digital Albums and Billboard Alternative Albums charts the same week. Appropriately enough, MuteMath is headlining this concert event as they have a huge following in the New Orleans region. MuteMath’s “Spotlight” was featured on the Twilight Original Movie Soundtrack.

Lee Safar is rising to the charts in her native Australia and around the world. Her hit single, “Take Me Away”, is #2 on the ReverbNation Charts in Australia. In 2009, the online hit “I’m Here” triggered an international online frenzy amongst Twilight fans upon the announcement that the song was being considered by for inclusion on The Twilight Saga: New Moon soundtrack.

The National Rifle, a Philadelphia-based indie/rock/punk band, occasionally employing a saxophone and infectious, anthemic choruses, members Hugh, Lynna, Jeremiah, and Buddy go from jazz to classic punk sounds in no time at all. Twilight Valentine’s Day Gifts

Every year around this time we start to get emails from boyfriends, husbands, wannabe boyfriends, etc asking us for advice on what to get their significant other that is Twilight related, but not too Edwardish or Jacobish. Chaske Spencer, Peter Facinelli, and Kyle Eckel For Vampire Baseball

The last time there was a vampire baseball game in Portland, Oregon it was a huge hit.  This year Vampire Baseball is going to be in two locations: New Orleans and Salt Lake City. Part of the proceeds are going to rebuilding New Orleans and to the Special Olympics.

This year the following actors have literally stepped up to the plate to to entertain the crowd and to raise money for a great cause. There will be more to come.

And for you sports fans, they have also managed to get Kyle Eckel of the powerhouse New Orleans Saints to jump onboard.

You can get full details on the event here including an option for a cruise. The group running this event has successfully run other Twilight Trips and has also been known in the industry for successfully running Harry Potter fantrips for years.

Vampire Baseball is Back!

Exciting news from Twilight Fan Trips who first  brought you Vampire Baseball during the July 4th weekend in Portland. That event raised money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and had players like Peter Facinelli, Rachelle Lefevre, Edi Gathegi, Alex Meraz, Michael Welch and more. They are back in 2010 with not one but two events.  Check out the details below.

Blogger Maggie Visits View Point Inn

Maggie, our favorite blogger who worked on the Twilight set, recently had a chance to visit the View Point Inn, the filming site of the prom scene in Twilight. Maggie’s been in and around the Portland area lately. She was the official photographer for the Vampire Baseball event sponsored by Twilight FanTrips.

Vampire Baseball: Maggie’s Report

Our favorite blogger, Maggie (who was on the set of Twilight), took part in the Vampire Baseball event in Portland yesterday. As usual Maggie’s blog makes you feel like you were there, and she’s promising pictures in the future.

“I was rather floored at how good they were. It wasn’t just connecting with the ball, they were hitting them way out, catching and throwing like pros… dang these people and their multiple talents!

The players were split into two teams: The Veggie Vampires Dances with Wolves (Peter’s team), and Portland Purple People Eaters (Rachelle’s team)…they came up with their own names. You’d have to ask them. The game was great. Everyone was having a good time, but obviously still competitive, and played wicked well. I was most impressed with Catherine Grimme… that girl is good!

There were lots of antics- a mock fight between the boys over a bad call, Rachelle replacing Peter with another pitcher as she didn’t like his throws- and some fun effects too. There was a bit in the second inning where Catherine[the six-year-old who played young Bella] took a hit and immediately was called ‘safe’, seemingly without running around the bases, so she looked like she had vampire speed! Really we filmed it the day before and Tyler sped it up with effects, but it looked great!”
