Walmart is sponsoring a Twitter party on Thursday Feb. 9 from 6 – 7 PM EST to help build up the excitement for the release of Breaking Dawn Pt. 1.  Join us on Twitter to talk about the film.  Walmart is providing us with five copies of the film to give away to those who participate in the twitter party.

Walmart Announces Breaking Dawn DVD Release Events

Calling all Twi-hards! Walmart cordially invites Twilight fans to celebrate the marriage of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen on Feb. 10 in more than 2,700 stores. Twilight fans at Walmart will get the following exclusive content with every purchase of the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, a 2-disc DVD or Blu-ray:

Starting at 11 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, Walmart will throw the ultimate Twilight party with special giveaways*, movie trivia and a bakery stocked with Twilight-themed treats such as cupcakes and cakes. Walmart shoppers can also catch a cameo appearance from Rosalie Cullen on the retailer’s in-store television network while waiting for the midnight unveil.

“When it comes to entertainment, Walmart is the destination for new movie releases, video games, music and more,” said Seong Ohm, senior vice president and general manager of entertainment for Walmart U.S. “We’re excited to give the millions of Twilight fans a place to unite, celebrate and receive exclusive Breaking Dawn collectibles at a great price.”

Walmart Opens Twilight Themed Shops

Building up the the release of the New Moon DVD, Walmart has opened Twilight Saga Shops in their stores nation wide.  The shops are divided between Vampire and Wolf and have clothing, jewelry, and merchandise all based on the films.  The Ultimate Fan Edition of the DVD will have an exclusive look at Eclipse with more footage than was seen on the UK edition of the DVD.

Walmart will also be hosting midnight release parties across the nation with special prizes given to the first 100 people in line. To find a participating store in your area, visit the Twilight section of Walmart’s Website.

Walmart DVD Party Pack Giveaway

Walmart has offered us the chance to give two of our users a New Moon party pack to help them in the plans for the DVD release coming on March 20.  Walmart is the only retailer who will carry “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” Ultimate Fan Edition DVD & Blu-ray with never-before-seen footage from the upcoming “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.”  Additionally, Walmart is launching its “Twilight Saga Shops” in-store the week of the DVD release and it’s full of your favorite Twilight merchandise. There are also separate sections in the shops dedicated to Vampires and Wolves so you can easily stock up on your favorite Edward or Jacob tees, bags, jewelry, and more!  Fans can also visit www.Walmart.com/twilight and choose to view their own theatrical trailer, get fun recipes for their movie viewing parties and find the closest Twilight midnight event nearby.

To help you get into the party spirit, Walmart is giving the Lexicon the chance to give away one Edward and one Jacob party pack to two lucky users.  Each party pack will contain the following items depending if they are Edward or Jacob related.

Walmart New Moon Release Special Info

We have been told that in 3500 Walmarts across the nation New Moon mini stores/kiosks will be opening tomorrow (March 10th). Each store will have a New Moon Hotspot located behind the accessories area. Some store will feature 2 New Moon locations with the additional location being in the electronics area.

These hotspots will be where Walmart will be hosting their DVD midnight release parties on March 20th. Unlike corporate parties in the past, Walmart seems to know what fans want. Exclusively we have inside information on some of the party plans….

The first 100 in line will be getting special goodies.

These goodies will include a folder with:

New Moon trading cards
Temporary tattoos
Stickers

Walmart’s Exclusive New Moon Ultimate Fan DVD

Ultimate fans of Twilight have a reason to howl with excitement:  a sneak peek at The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.  Walmart announced today it will be the only retailer to carry The Twilight Saga: New Moon Ultimate Fan Edition on standard DVD and Blu-ray, with never-before-seen footage from the upcoming The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Walmart also will feature “Twilight Saga Shops” in stores – a dedicated shopping experience for Twilight fans to bite into a variety of Twilight­-themed clothing, jewelry, and merchandise, including new items to show their wolf- or vampire-fan pride.

Fans can pre-order The Twilight Saga: New Moon Ultimate Fan Edition, as well as the national two-disc Special Edition DVD or Special Edition Blu-ray, today at Walmart.com.  With the new movie and 50 minutes of extra footage and interviews, The Twilight Saga: New Moon Ultimate Fan Edition also contains an exclusive, 7-minute sneak peek of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.  It begins with an exciting behind-the-scenes look at the production of the newest film.  New interviews with stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, as well as with series-creator Stephenie Meyer, are integrated with revealing on-the-set footage of some of the key scenes and sets from the upcoming movie.  This first-look at The Twilight Saga: Eclipse concludes with the world premiere of an actual scene from the upcoming film.
