Personal history: Charles and Makenna come as witnesses for the Volturi when they confront the Cullens about creating an immortal child [Renesmee].  They hear evidence from the Cullens and their witnesses that Renesmee is half vampire and half human.  They know Garrett who makes a speech about what the Volturi’s true motives are.  Aro asks Makenna and Charles what their opinions are.  Makenna responds that they did not come to fight.  She says that they came to witness and agrees with Garrett that the Cullens are innocent.  Makenna and Charles immediately leave after giving their witness.  (BD37)
